I certainly wouldn't wear a slip under most of my skirts, because they're that stretchy polyesterish fabric.
And there are a million lengths too. My aim is, for any style that I would wear a slip with, is to buy a lined skirt.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I wear slips the way the good Lord intended. As clothing, not as undergarments. I love the ones with the cute lace edges.
Hmm. It occurs to me that the last of my slips gave up the ghost a fair while back, and that when I restock my wardrobe, I should pick a couple up.
I own a few slips. Half-slips and full slips. That doesn't include hoops/petticoats for Civil War reenacting. I rarely wear the slips, tho.
If I think you can see through it, I wear a slip, if not, no slip. I own one in black and one in beige.
ImememeN, I have managed to successfully register for classes, set up my monthly payment plan, and order a remote to replace the one I lost [it costs almost as much as the VCR]. That's enough for one day, right? I think I am going to take a hot bath soon, and then get ready to meet up with Teacup Guy at his place. We are going to an Italian art exhibit tonight.
I have a few full slips, because I like to wear them as nightgowns when I am in a nightgown and bathrobe around the house mood, and I think I have two half slips, one beige and one black, but I am not sure.
You know, I think I stick to things that come with linings if they need it too. I never really thought about it, but having to find an item of clothing to fit under other clothing? I already have to deal with bras, why add further complication?
That's enough, sj. Enjoy the exhibit.
My mother raised me to wear slips with any and all skirts, but I believe that was the first bit of my upbringing that I dropped upon reaching college. What a rebel I was!
Anyway, all the skirts I own are either lined, reasonably thick and opaque by themselves, or just too damn casual to wear extra underwear for.
I do not own a slip. I think the last time I wore one was under my graduation robe. (Since I lived across the street from the stadium, and could easily go home to change afterwards.)
I have some silk slips that I wear with certain things because the slips feel better against my skin.
Perkins, unless you want an endodontist in Berkeley, I got nothing. You can check the UCB Parents Network to see if they have any recomendations for a town near you.

I forgot, this is the other reason I wear a slip, if the skirt or dress it too itchy without one.
