Well, huh. As of July 13 there was still one research assistant position open in the department I interviewed with in May (and was offered a job, for that matter). I hope the position is still open and that the supervisor gets back with me soon. This situation could turn out ok.

Jessica, thanks for the link. I thought it was funny, as much for itself as for the quizzical looks I got from the babies for the oddness of my cartoon.
I'm very blessed. I am sitting in a new chair, red leather, looks like an office chair but rocks and swivels and is super comfy. I have new shirts coming from e-bay and I got some gorgeous neck jewelry in the mail, also an Amazon gift certificate, happy birthday telephone calls, and the client with the business plan gave me a gift certificate to the cheesecake factory. And it's only noon! My children are happy, my husband is (a little cranky) home, and all is well.
