We're both fine, physically. The car was a little banged up, but except for a blown-out tire, it was all cosmetic damage. AAA came and changed the tire for us, but since the spare was a doughnut, we could only drive it to the next town. Fortunately, AAA Guy was able to direct us to an exit that had three hotels and a tire place right off the highway. So we checked into a Holiday Inn for the night, bought a new tire in the morning, and got home yesterday afternoon.
Everything else before that was incredible -- we had the cabin almost entirely to ourselves, we had two great sails, lots of great kayaking, even more great lying on the couch reading...oh I want to go back. NOW.

Welcome back, Jess! I am very glad that neither of you got hurt the accident. I hope that part of the vacation memories fades much sooner than the rest.

Jessica, I'll chime in with everyone else to say boo to the accident but yay to the otherwise good vacation.
So, I interviewed at a staffing agency for an internal position and they are already checking my references. I'm desperate to give my notice today or tommorrow. I don't know if I can let myself do it without a job offer, but at the same time, I feel like I can some up with
something
in two weeks. It's ok if it's not spectacular, because I'm looking to move in the spring. I just don't know if I should make the call today or not.
Hmmm... Jess left the country and all we had was a heatwave.
