Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Always Anti-fascist!

You've been fortunate, Susan. Although that does not lessen grief, I'm sure.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Susan, I'm so sorry.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Just talked to VCOB. He doesn't have much more of an idea what's going on than I do, but his impression is that Dad has at least a few weeks, but no more than a few months, and that he really started going downhill shortly after we left last month. I had some inkling of that myself, but I clung to the idea that it was the chemo, and once that was done he'd get better again. VCOB and Aunt Brenda (the retired head nurse who's the expert on all things medical, esp. how to work the system, for our family) both wonder if there's not a second tumor in his brain, but the insurance wouldn't pay for another MRI, and since he's not strong enough to stand more chemo, it doesn't really matter.

VCOB promised to call when he knows more. I'm going to go ahead and talk to the writing conference chair and our chief wedding coordinator about the things I'm scheduled to do in October, just in case, and because it gives me something practical to do. I want to keep the commitments--having concrete, simple things to do is a blessing--but they should know there's a chance they'll need to make a last-minute substitution.

Because books.

Oh, Susan, I'm so sorry. I'm so glad you had that time with him last month.

I like it, I am indeed a many-layered sandwich in a world of fries, and besides, the talking oven mitt always makes me giggle

Goodness, Billy. The Wally Report is a little odd, man. Just like you. :)

I had a housekeeper, but she disappeared. Everything was cool for a month. She was here M-F for 3 hours a day and it was going great.

Ooh. I'd like a housekeeper. But I think for one person living in a one bedroom, it's a little silly. But oh so tempting. (Though not for three hours a day)

This model is actually fairly hard to find, and should I locate such a thing, I will buy 3 of them. I fear this will require a trip to the mall. I'm scared.

Heh. Good luck, juliana!

Mental note: discussing your plans to dress more like a rockstar kills the thread dead

I enjoyed reading it later! Just couldn't post then, as I was working or some ridiculousness.

Oh Susan, best of wishes to your dad that he may have as long as possible with as good of quality of life as possible...

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Susan, I'm very sorry.

Our wings are not tired.

Susan, my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. I'm glad you had the visit with him before he took a turn for the worse. Make VCOB keep you in the loop. It will be good for both of you.

Trust my rage

Hi Bitches! I've skipped about 500 posts. However, I had to drop in to say:

I'M DONE!!!!!

no more bar exam for me (provided I passed) I feel like i have nothing to worry about now (except passing)

Also, I see that Susan's dad is not doing well. I'm very sorry to hear that and you and your family will be in my prayers.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

But still, it's ok to get a haircut. Plans change. It's still both of your money. More importantly, I'm so glad you got a chance to visit and really talk with your dad.
