My dad in particular likes to use the "you should..." statements quite a lot. Instead of getting riled up about how he's trying to control my life I just tell him "thanks for the suggestion".

I've always liked Brenda's ju-jitsu for this: "That's an interesting idea."

That "Chocolypse Now" link Daniel posted is pretty great, but my brain started to fold in on itself around pg. 6, when they combined Apocalypse Now, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the Candyland game, and The Gashleycrumb Tinies.

edit: I am saddened to report that, while combining Apocalypse Now, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I didn't see the line "Charlie don't surf."

Mmmmm, did meara ever tell you about the pack of pretty gothy boys we say at Ground Zero while she was here? One had a (tight!) black t-shirt and (also tight!) black jeans on, but he was also wearing a cowboy hat and a big silver belt (and big black stompy boots), and danced perfectly appropriately. The pack of boys was with a very vampy blonde in a blood-red (tight!) dress, and they all had very different styles. I seriously believe that the boys are her harem, and she had them dress all different styles to please her.

Oh, PC, how NOT fun. I hope the phone call is going well.

Well, I've interviewed potention three and potential four. Potential three was our friend, the reporter. He was in and out of here pretty quickly, but seemed to like the place (he took an application, which I took to be a decent sign). I was right in that he has a big place right now, but since he's in Baghdad so much, he's looking to just rent a room until that assignment is over.

Potential four went quite well as well. She seemed very nice...a little perky, but not as much as I imagined from her original e-mail. We chatted quite a bit, and she told me about some of the really disgusting apartments she had seen. That made me feel a little better about the cleanliness of our place. She also got along well with Toto.

So, I think we have some good people to potentially choose from. Of course, all of them are seeing other places, so we may not get our first pick, but we'll see. I've got one more appointment at 5pm.

Now, I must figure out if I have the energy to do laundry.
