Cindy, they're not paying my rent. I'm paying out of my slowly dwindling bank account.

How to deal with your mom, I don't know.
I suppose sticking your fingers in your ears and yelling "LALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU OR YOUR CRAXY 'SUGGESTIONS'!!" would be counder-productive, wouldn't it?
On a serious note, I'm sorry your mom pulled that, P-C. Oy.
Yeek, PC, way over the line, you're right to be pissed. I have no advice, beyond what has already been offered, merely sympathy.

-t is the clear headed one on this issue - unless dad and mom have been helping you pay. then , the practiacal thing to do might be something else - like head to the bay area where you have relatives you can stay with and there are jobs related to what you can do , if not what you want to do.
Okay, PC, that's fucking insane. I think this is a line you don't want to let your mom cross, even if it will be tough going the parent-defying route.
PC, you need to tell your folks the following, over and over and over again:
"Mom, Dad, I'm willing to listen to your advice, and I'll accept your help if I feel I need it, but you WILL NOT make decisions for me on my behalf."
Fair point as a practical matter, Cindy. If P-C's parents are footing the bill, they do have the prerogative to stop. The problem is, his mother told the realtor that certain specific things were going to happen without bothering to let P-C know about it.
In that case, the better course would have been to tell P-C that the financial support for an apartment stops as of some specific date. Then P-C could decide his next moves -- which could be moving home, temping, or something else that it's too hot for me to dig up from my mind.
(ETA: And since P-C points out that his parents aren't footing the bill, the whole things is moot anyway.)
answered all ready. so don't cancel. and just keep moving forward. - but I would start calculating how much time is left.
and then you can say - nope, no need to cancel I still have a years rent left. to your folks . even if there is only 4 months left.

My dad's calling in about an hour. My dad, who recently told me to take the first two weeks of August off to go on a family vacation. Was already checking plane tickets. I'll see what I can do.

I've got about nine months before I go bankrupt. Probably fewer, since I'll have to start repaying my loan during that time.
