I'm intrigued by the idea of a workshop on flirting. Hopefully it's more than just "Be an active listener" and "If she keeps touching her hair or calling attention to her breasts, she's interested."
Actually, I'd find that hysterical. "Have you seen my breasts? They're very pretty."
t Hmmm. Is she trying to tell me something?
The active listening could be fun too. "And that's when I realised that -- Look, could you sit down?!"
t boing boing boing boing
Heh and awww.
Yeah. I felt so badly for the poor thing. Our vet is all the way out in Littleton. We keep talking about trying to find a closer vet for Bastet (Toto does fine with that long drive), but not doing anything about it. I should check with our Somervillain cat owners and see if they can recommend someplace good. But, anyway, she's so anxious by the time she gets there...then we had to wait, 'cause the vet was running behind. By the time the vet even came in, she was so worked up. Anything they tried to do was gonna be a nightmare.
My brother and SIL's cat has to have home vet visits 'cause he got so bad about going to the vet. We maybe should look into that too.

Bwah!
Good thing I sucked the last few hundred posts for skimming with all the hot hair photos. Also enjoyed the zoo pics. Yay pictures!
Another day of moving in to the new office is planned. Much was done yesterday, but the list is still very long. We may actually work there on Monday, but the DSL won't be working yet. Cell phone access is the fastest alternative, but not very convenient. I found 3 wireless networks within range of my office, alas all were secured.
I have a new cat, kinda. My neighbor and I planned to transition her cat to living at my house when I got back from vacation. She travels a lot and is spending more than half of her time in a part of the state that has large predator birds so she doesn't want to move her there.
Georgia always felt welcome to wander into my house so it went smoothly. It only took her a couple days to figure out her food bowls had moved. She is mostly an outdoor cat. She only comes in to eat a couple times a day. She has a litter box but only uses it if she is stuck inside due to stormy weather.
It is good to have a cat again. Also, she loves to walk on my keyboard.
she keeps touching her hair or calling attention to her breasts, she's interested.
Yeah, because in my experience sometimes women who do that are interested--- *in being admired,* not so much in the other person. Same with guys who are really smooth and charming on the first date--it;s easy to be charming or flirty when one has nothing at stake.
Robin has just exposed my whole dating life as a sham.
::weeps::
I've got my friend's girls over here right now, and we're watching the musical. The oldest just exclaimed that Spike is her favorite. I'm trying to decide if it's appropriate to let her come in here and say hello.
Then they took it out, and she went into full attack mode. It was hysterical.
The poor thing. I can certainly attest to the wonders of Rescue Remedy being helpful for calming the beasties down for traumatic events like vet visits.
ION, the second time I woke up, I came downstairs to discover Dan putting together my shiny new shelf. It's just a cheap metal utility shelf until we locate or build good wooden ones. But ... SHINY!
Pictures from today (well, just two). Perkins and I have new hair.
A twofer! Unsurprisingly you both look great. In other breaking news: Lily - still so very adorable.
Susan, that sounds so cool. I wish I could swing Shoeless Joe's bat. Emmett's going to be very jealous of you.
Plei, why can't you wear what you're wearing in the photo to your formal wedding? It looks dressy enough, and you look fabulous in the photos. Also, the hair, it looks great, so shiny and bouncy. We see you now, and not so much the weight of hair. Perkins' hair looks sleek and fabulous and gorgeous, and she and Jilli are color-coordinated, with the pink crinoline peeking out from Jilli's hemline and that scrumptious raspberry sweater Perkins is wearing. I love the simple lines of Jilli's coat-dress-thing, too. Very hot trio of women in those photos, plus one to-be-reckoned-with potential.
Epic, I agree that the shorter hair shows off your face more, and is flattering. Plus, go you with Locks of Love giftage. My hair was too fine and thin, they didn't want it. I should have donated years ago, when it was in better shape. Also? great con photos.
Lilty, I'm so jealous of the Florence experience. I hope you're taking dozens of pics.
Jess, the new cut suits you excellently. I love the anti-sleekness of it, it mimics the parts of your personality that refuse to conform to the average and ordinary. Plus, blue!
I desperately need a haircut, and so far I'm resisting--I'm not quite sure why. It's past time, and the hair, she's not looking so good. I think I'm just resisting the process, not the result.
My wireless mouse is misbehaving: refusing to track, throwing up right-click drop boxes when I haven't right-clicked, just generally being a PITA. Might see how far I can fling it...
I do not have the new Harry Potter. I am, in fact just now finishing up OotP for the first time, and plan to go back and read GoF, because I've forgotten important bits. I will most probably get the Canadian hardcover version, since it's on recycled stock. Meanwhile, off to read.
Sigh. I need to start packing, go to work, print out maps and things, and fly to California. Instead, I want to sit around on my couch. And Yahoo won't let me into my mail! Stupid yahoo.
