Many thanks for the compliments on the cut. I really, really, really like this new stylist.
I wish more Buffistas (especially billytea) could have seen the carousel at the St. Louis zoo. The variety of unusual animals on the thing was staggering. Each animal was labeled, so that you know that you weren't just riding a penguin, you were riding a Humboldt Penguin.
Anne, how cool. And your hair cut is absolutely perfect on you! I love it.
They were holding on to her pretty tightly. They put it in, and she meowed the whole time. And the vet and assistant were all, "I know. It's uncomfortable. I'd be complaining too. You complain all you want. We'll listen." And this went on the whole time. Then they took it out, and she went into full attack mode. It was hysterical.
Heh and awww.

Excellent! It's a great name for a penguin. Right up there with Fiordland.

This is cool.
Awesome hair all around. Makes me want to do something new and different, but I think I'll wait until the anti-depressants have fully taken effect in case it goes poorly.
I'm intrigued by the idea of a workshop on flirting. Hopefully it's more than just "Be an active listener" and "If she keeps touching her hair or calling attention to her breasts, she's interested."

Actually, I'd find that hysterical. "Have you seen my breasts? They're very pretty."
t Hmmm. Is she trying to tell me something?
The active listening could be fun too. "And that's when I realised that -- Look, could you sit down?!"
t boing boing boing boing

Yeah. I felt so badly for the poor thing. Our vet is all the way out in Littleton. We keep talking about trying to find a closer vet for Bastet (Toto does fine with that long drive), but not doing anything about it. I should check with our Somervillain cat owners and see if they can recommend someplace good. But, anyway, she's so anxious by the time she gets there...then we had to wait, 'cause the vet was running behind. By the time the vet even came in, she was so worked up. Anything they tried to do was gonna be a nightmare.
My brother and SIL's cat has to have home vet visits 'cause he got so bad about going to the vet. We maybe should look into that too.

Bwah!
Good thing I sucked the last few hundred posts for skimming with all the hot hair photos. Also enjoyed the zoo pics. Yay pictures!
Another day of moving in to the new office is planned. Much was done yesterday, but the list is still very long. We may actually work there on Monday, but the DSL won't be working yet. Cell phone access is the fastest alternative, but not very convenient. I found 3 wireless networks within range of my office, alas all were secured.
I have a new cat, kinda. My neighbor and I planned to transition her cat to living at my house when I got back from vacation. She travels a lot and is spending more than half of her time in a part of the state that has large predator birds so she doesn't want to move her there.
Georgia always felt welcome to wander into my house so it went smoothly. It only took her a couple days to figure out her food bowls had moved. She is mostly an outdoor cat. She only comes in to eat a couple times a day. She has a litter box but only uses it if she is stuck inside due to stormy weather.
It is good to have a cat again. Also, she loves to walk on my keyboard.
she keeps touching her hair or calling attention to her breasts, she's interested.
Yeah, because in my experience sometimes women who do that are interested--- *in being admired,* not so much in the other person. Same with guys who are really smooth and charming on the first date--it;s easy to be charming or flirty when one has nothing at stake.
Robin has just exposed my whole dating life as a sham.

I've got my friend's girls over here right now, and we're watching the musical. The oldest just exclaimed that Spike is her favorite. I'm trying to decide if it's appropriate to let her come in here and say hello.
