Lilty should rent a Vespa.
I'm debating -- do I want to put dye in my hair now, or wait until the mail comes so I don't greet the mailman who will bring me my Harry Potter in a shower cap? (There's also the risk that I'd be IN the shower washing out the dye when he comes, and then I'd miss getting my Harry Potter COMPLETELY because I'm positive that the people who regularly steal my newspaper in the morning wouldn't balk at stealing my mail either, if said mail looked like it contained a Harry Potter book.)
[eta: Of course, I'm also having a "I have a cute new haircut! I should go BLONDE!" day, but that would require going out any buying toner, since all I have on hand is bleach. And then I think to myself that instead of going blonde, what I REALLY want is a lighter shade of blue, which would mean an even LONGER trip because the place that sells Special Effects isn't in Brooklyn. So I'll probably just stick with what I have.]
Is dh working, Jess?
This is like a locked-room mystery. If you wait for the mail, the mail will never come. If you shower, the mail will come and your book will be stolen.
Maybe that shouldn't make me laugh, PC, but it does.
It'd be funny if the events of page 606 were "Harry combs his hair, and Hermione makes fun of him," but apparently they're not.
Did you delete the comment, P-C? I went to look, but did not see it. I never got past the second (or possibly 3rd) HP book. I liked them well enough, but I didn't love them enough to keep up with them. We have most of them, though. I bought the first four. And Ben has bought one or two from Scholastic Books book sales at school. Is this number 7 or 6? I know Ben's bought two, but he might have bought one we already had.
I deleted it, Cindy, but it wasn't on my LJ anyway. This is book 6.
I just talked to my dad. He went at midnight to Borders last night. When they got there, they were number 400. It took them FOREVER to get their book. But, he said it was much fun.
DH is at ComicCon. I'm all alone this weekend. Alas!
[eta: I'm going to go ahead and at least bleach it so I'm not stuck inside all day waiting. I'm letting the bleach mixture sit for 5 minutes in the other room, and typing this with latex gloves on. It feels very naughty.]

Duh on me. That's what the non-LJ diary thing was about. I read it too quickly.
Book six, huh. Now I have to go see what we have on our shelves. I suspect we have two copies of #1. The two books Ben bought through school were paperbacks.
... just checked. Nope. It's not number 1. We have two copies of Goblet of Fire (one in paperback), and our only copy of Phoenix is also paper.
vw, your dad went and waited in line? That's too cute. I can't imagine a book that would make me do that. I think I burnt all my fangurl out on Buffy, and it'll never quite come back. Sure, there's stuff I like. There's not too much I like that much, that I'd go somewhere at midnight and wait for it. I think my midnight waiting is reserved for humans.

I hung out at the Borders too. I don't know how many people were there, but it was, in fact, much fun. I wrote about it in my non-non-LJ diary.
It pisses me off that every time I start to like people again, some idiot reminds me what fuckheads they can be.
