I'm back! In Florence, which is amazing. We're taking a few hours back at the hotel while it's hottest. I'm going to go up to the veranda and read some Harry Potter. (While getting gelato last night, I stumbled on the International Bookstore. They were having a party.)
I wish I could do better to explain it here. It's so damn pretty! And Ab and I both said last night we felt like we were stuck in the ep "The Girl in Question". Then said ciao many times.
YAY! I'm glad you're having such a nice time. Also, YAY for Harry Potter!
Yay, indeed. To the veranda!!
(I mean, seriously. Veranda. And it's all vines and pink flowers and pretty roofs and just like you'd want it to be!)
Yay for Lilty and yay for "Ciao"ing!!
As for HP, someone left an anonymous note on my non-LJ diary spoiling me for the events of page 606. I can't believe what fuckheads people can be.
Maybe that shouldn't make me laugh, PC, but it does.
It's Lilty! And she found Harry Potter in Italy.
Not even! They left about an hour ago to go to the hardware store, and still haven't returned. Perhaps they've been sucked into a fiery vortex of pain. It would only be fair.
My electricians went to get some parts about 14 months ago. I'm not kidding. I might have the number wrong, but it's been more than a year. I ran into them last September in CVS. They tried to duck me. They failed. At this point, we don't want them back, but they literally had about an hour's worth of work left on the 1 week job that they'd taken about 6 weeks to mostly complete and 9 months to complete to the point where they only had about an hour's worth of work left.
...
LILTY! Ciao.
Lilty should rent a Vespa.
I'm debating -- do I want to put dye in my hair now, or wait until the mail comes so I don't greet the mailman who will bring me my Harry Potter in a shower cap? (There's also the risk that I'd be IN the shower washing out the dye when he comes, and then I'd miss getting my Harry Potter COMPLETELY because I'm positive that the people who regularly steal my newspaper in the morning wouldn't balk at stealing my mail either, if said mail looked like it contained a Harry Potter book.)
[eta: Of course, I'm also having a "I have a cute new haircut! I should go BLONDE!" day, but that would require going out any buying toner, since all I have on hand is bleach. And then I think to myself that instead of going blonde, what I REALLY want is a lighter shade of blue, which would mean an even LONGER trip because the place that sells Special Effects isn't in Brooklyn. So I'll probably just stick with what I have.]
Is dh working, Jess?
This is like a locked-room mystery. If you wait for the mail, the mail will never come. If you shower, the mail will come and your book will be stolen.
Maybe that shouldn't make me laugh, PC, but it does.
It'd be funny if the events of page 606 were "Harry combs his hair, and Hermione makes fun of him," but apparently they're not.
