Buffy: He ran away, right? Giles: Sort of, more. turned and swept out majestically, I suppose. Said I didn't concern him. Buffy: So a mythic triumph over a completely indifferent foe? Giles: Well, I'm not dead or unconscious, so I say bravo for me.

The Minearverse 4: Support Group for Clumsy People

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

What is even happening?

(For some reason, when I first read that, my brain saw "Melanie Lynskey" and thought "Riff Regan". I need to get my pointers re-initialized.)

Ha! Wrong Willow? Yes, yes you do, Betsy.

Scott and I were at a class at our church, Wednesday night. The leader asked some question of the group, and I made a Firefly reference, in response. Turns out, he and his wife are fans (although they found it after cancelation). I refrained from bragging (just) that Scott would have been killed on FF, if it had lived, and that he had been killed on The Inside (although that was mostly because I haven't ever gotten to see that episode, and won't unless the DVDs ever come out).

She currently plays Rose on "Two and a Half Men". She's easily the best thing on the show.

I think I've only watched that show a handful of times. sj or Laura, is Rose the character who has an obsessive crush on Charlie Sheen's character?

A One that isn't cold, is scarcely A One at all.

AnthonyDe - that's excellent. Do you know when your episode airs?

The Closer? It's the first episode of the second season. Not sure when exactly.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Seriously, for those of us who are hopelessly behind, are we allowed to ask the concept of the new show?

I believe the pitch we got earlier was " Magnolia meets North by Northwest." Which piqued my interest. It led some to deem it "just like Cannonball Run " or, perhaps, "like The Amazing Race with more death."

All is well that ends in pizza.

"Death Race 2000 with better writers"?

Strega - Mar 18, 2006 9:11:46 pm PST #8884 of 10001

I think it's Survivor : Lost :: The Amazing Race : Drive. But I don't know what the hell I'm talking about, so factor that in.

Oo, they should recycle the theme song from Hardcastle & McCormick!

I do not think you're wrong, Strega. I'm pretty sure that was how it was described to me when I first heard about it.

And I never watched Hardcastle & McCormick but, for some reason, the title is making me think of that other show. With the two cops who were secretly married and a had a hidden door connecting their apartments...

Damnit. What show was that?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

We've cast two amazing women, Emily Stone and Melanie Lynskey. More news as it happens.

I work for a huge Melanie Lynskey fan.

I expect I'll be hearing "burbleburblecastinnewthing!" on Monday.

That's pretty swell.

Oh god. I know what you're talking about. Crap, what was it called?

I didn't watch H&M, but it was on after something that I did watch, and I would listen to the theme song before changing channels. Because it rocked! For the 80s.

A HA! MacGruder and Loud. Thank god. That was seriously bugging me, yo.

In related H&M news, I'm got tickets to the Stephen Cannell panel thing at the WGA. I'm so excited!

Strega - Mar 18, 2006 10:26:12 pm PST #8889 of 10001

Ha! And damn! I just found it myself and you beat me by 3 minutes. Curses.

On the bright side, now I can sleep.

Oo, what is the panel? Cannell always seems like a neat guy in interviews.
