'Safe'

The Minearverse 4: Support Group for Clumsy People

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

"As the Plot Thickens, No One Is Safe" [link]

In the landscape of television dramas, "24" and "The L Word" have little in common.... But this week, the two series have employed an increasingly widespread plot device: in the past 48 hours, both "The L Word" and "24" killed off popular lead characters.

It's sad, really. All these writers, hoping to grow up to be Tim Minear.

eta: Oops. Sorry. There are spoilers for very recent deaths in that article. I kind of thought that was obvious, but apparently it's not.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

That article (and that excerpt) is pretty profoundly spoilery.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

About future episodes? The excerpt doesn't look spoilery to me for anything that hasn't happened yet.

If, like me, you're on tape-delay for the last two or three weeks of 24, you don't want to know either what's revealed in the article or the excerpt.

If you're on tape delay, NAFDA threads are going to be dangerous places to be.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Hey, I saw "Strange World". Of course, I don't remember most of the details, but I watched it just for you, Tim.

What is even happening?

I think the rules are ambiguous in a thread like this (or Bitches), that is NAFDA but not tied to any specific show.

From the FAQ

Q. NAFDA? Is that an international Buffista treaty?
A. Ummm..... No. It's the North American Free Discussion Area. We have many posters who aren't from North America and are therefore half a season or more behind. In order to keep them unspoiled, we limit discussion of current episodes to specific threads. These are the NAFDA threads. If it's not labeled as a NAFDA thread, don't talk about current episodes in it. We also ask that you don't discuss one show's current season in another show's topic without whitefont, because some people are on tape delay. This means that events from the current season of Buffy should be whitefonted in the Angel topic and vice versa.

So I deserve to be spoiled for *all* character deaths in all shows in any NAFDA thread?

I added a warning. I apologize for not making the spoilery nature of the article more clear.
