Two weeks? Eeeee!!
So glad I'm not the only one who's jazzed about "Doctor Who" coming to the Sci-Fi Channel. I wonder if Joss, Tim, or Fury feels the same.
ETA: I've never seen "Who" before, but it's one show I've always wanted to see.
I hope you and your family are recovering well from your loss, Allyson. I'm so sorry I didn't know sooner, but I've been...away.
I saw some of the episodes of the new Doctor Who (my first Doctor Who experience) last summer on Canadian TV. It's very good - It's definitely something to get excited about. The last few episodes of the season were particularly great.
Hmmm, I totally misunderstood what Tamara was saying -- I know we're getting the 05 Who in two weeks (less now!) - but I thought she meant that '06 Who is starting in the UK in two weeks? Is it? Because that is excellent.
Not that I'll get to see it but - - excited!!
Just got back. Disneyland Rocks!
My prayers and thoughts are with you you and yours Allyson.
It's very good - It's definitely something to get excited about.
That's the impression I get from many fans. Apparently, it's not like the new "Battlestar Galactica," where alot of people were (initially) resistant to the re-conception. There are some quibbles about the new "Who." For the most part, however, the core audience appears to be pleased, thus far...which is good, right?
It's not a re-conception. It's a sequel. Each sequel does some stuff differently, and you can't please everyone.
It's not a re-conception. It's a sequel.
Not to mention it's what, the 10th? Big changes pretty much define
Dr Who.
(also, I fifth or whatever the very good.)
It's not a re-conception. It's a sequel.
If you're talking about the new "Who," then I'd have to agree. The new BSG, however, isn't a continuation of the original series. I think Ronald D. Moore has made that clear.
Could someone do me a favor and let the posters at whedonesque.com know, in the thread marked "For the Love of Brigadoon," that "Brigadoon" will be on Turner Classic Movies (TCM), on Wednesday (03/08) morning, at 6:00 AM EST? I know Joss expressed in an interview recently that it was his favorite MGM musical, and that many wanted to see it, too.
I would let them know myself, but, that's a little hard to do when you're not registered there.
ETA: Nevermind about posting the info. at whedonesque.com. I've already e-mailed one of the mods. However, if you've posted it there already, much thanks.
I was responding to this:
it's not like the new "Battlestar Galactica," where alot of people were (initially) resistant to the re-conception.
to indicate that Who's not a re-conception.
Oh, I see, ita. Thanks for clarifying, and I'm sorry for the confusion on my part, too. Syntax is so not my friend these days.
