[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

I like to believe that if I babble enough, sometimes I'll make sense accidentally. But if it helps offset things, I can explain how the Mario Bros. games were commie propaganda.
What were you indignant about?
Oh, I wanna hear the Mario/commie thing.
Well, it's a little guy in overalls who runs up to a castle, pulls down their flag and raises one with a red star on it. C'mon. Clearly a metaphor for the proletariat overthrowing the ruling class.
Also, the fish symbolize the church trying to knock you off the path to the glorious revolution, and the owls symbolize intellectuals, and the fact that the owls are actually mushrooms isn't important. Because they look like owls, damn it. Oh, and the slow-paced bullets represent the military-industrial complex.

Huh. I can still sing the little song that plays when you reach the end of a level and jump onto the flag pole.
So can I!
Actually, I have every nintendo game every made on my Xbox. I should pull that sucker out and overthrow some governments.
But it seems like it ultimately privileges the monarchy, though admittedly the princess is in trouble for most of the game.
I was all about The Legend of Zelda. I played it until my fingers bledthumbs hurt.
I can sing that song too. One of those VH1 80s shows did a segment on Zelda, and the flashback nearly gave me whiplash.
How do you fit rescuing the princess into the Communist model?
