Woot! Way to go, Kristen!
The Minearverse 4: Support Group for Clumsy People
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
Um, hello. DETAILS PLEASE.
I think it went well. Oddly enough, it was kind of fun.
OK, that's awesome.
Now go ogle your new table.
But they sure as hell did afterwards.
That's a damned shame. Tubbs's style was much more emulation-worthy. And he's not worn plaid yet.
Photos of the table?
Fantabulous Kristen!
Um, hello. DETAILS PLEASE.
I don't know what else to say. Let's see...
We talked about how I got started writing (Buffy), how I heard about the program (Jane), what I was hoping to get out of the program (be a better writer).
They thought my script was wonderful, very well done, and that I got the character's voices spot on. They really liked the the story and thought it was unique and that Kathleen was a character they'd never seen before. We talked a little about where the idea for her came from and why I picked Without a Trace to spec.
They did ask me what was on TV that I hated (hi, Killer Instinct) and what I loved. Which was funny because one of the shows I mentioned turned out to be the show that one of them works on. Go me! Bonus points!
We laughed a lot, which I think is a good sign. All in all, it was really cool and fun.
YAY! So, they're deciding by the end of next week, which is Friday? Cause of the holiday?
Wow, that's an excellent report, Kristen. I think you'd have to be considered a frontrunner after that kind of interview. Fun interviews usually mean connections were made. Also, the kind of things they loved about your script are very telling. (Back me up on this Scrappy.)
Congratulations and well done!
That's what they thought, Kat. So it's either gonna be a very merry christmas or a really depressing one.
Thanks, Hec! And, yes, I made a point of thanking everyone (even the assistants) all at the end of the interview. Because, regardless of the outcome, the whole experience has been wonderful and I truly appreciate every compliment they paid me.
It's all so cool!
YAY for COOLNESS!
