The Minearverse 4: Support Group for Clumsy People
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
a format other than/in addition to podcast
Well, most podcasts I've been exposed to are nothing more than downloadable MP3s. The thing that makes them "podcasts" is an RSS feed you can subscribe to that delivers new episodes as they're recorded.
"Podcast" by itself doesn't really imply any particular format.
People are offering me condolences.
I do feel like the show's Auntie Allyson. I didn't have anything to do with it, but I have a ton of wallet sized photos and took it out for ice cream and M&Ms a whole lot.
Tim- sorry about the bad news. Gotta say how to you begin to write for a people who prefer Dancing with the Stars? Something I don't get about FOX is that they have a cable network in F/X that shows like The Inside, Wonderfalls or Firefly might have found a home. Where's the foward thinking? NBC is airing episodes of Battlestar Galactica.
"buffistentaries"
Can we find another word? This sounds a little like a digestive disease.
Snark?
Lost is on Channel 4 and E4 in the UK (or will be very soon), just to clarify. They are planning a media blitz before it starts in August.
FoxBC: take note here. CINEMA ADVERTS. "Media blitz".
If there is an enterprising LAista with a laptop, you could install Audacity on it, get Kristen and Allyson each a mic, settle down somewhere with the show, and go.
lilserf, thanks for the clarification re: Podcasts. I (obviously) know next-to-nothing about them.
Damn. I was just starting to really like The Inside. I'm sorry, Tim. Are you fairly confident that there will be a DVD release?
P-C, this is why I proposed a format other than/in addition to podcast - ogg or mp3 or whathaveyou. Because THAT could be turned into an audio CD, and CD players are significantly cheaper than iPods.
Ooh! Except I don't have a CD player either. No, seriously. I HAVE NOTHING. Heh. I play my CDs in my DVD player or my computer. But you're right, CD players are cheaper than iPods.
On the UK TV thing, I know my first exposure was when I checked out "The Office" on DVD. The "first series" and "second series" were each 6 episodes, and then they also made a 2-episode special.
Wait, seriously? That's the entirety of The Office ? Fourteen episodes? Wow. I do need to check that out eventually.
even though i've already seen Lost, i'll be watching it again when it is broadcast.. i'm the same with most of the tv shows i aquire.. ;)..
and whoever said about a proper iMP for tv... well the BBC are trialling something in the UK where we will have access to the backcatalogue starting in September (as a trial) and i don't know when as a general thing... so i'm sure in the US they are thinking about doing it, but it is just time...
