[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
Am really, really late to this thread, but I just wanted to pipe in and say that I am so not happy with this show. I sort of liked this week's ep, but I still feel that overall the show is really heavy-handed, full of cliches and not written as well as it could be. Or maybe it's just that it's not acted as well as it could be.
I don't know, but so far all of the characters bug, especially Rebecca. So holier-than-thou and robotlike. I'm waiting to see if that's on purpose. I'm hoping that it is.
Sorry for the negativity, just really, really disappointed so far.

I'm 99% certain it is.
Episode 13 will reveal her to be a sanctimonious robot? Awesome!

Then why do you keep watching? Spare yourself the pain. Join a bowling league on Wednesdays. Perhaps take up needlepoint. Learn to play the sax.
But why stay miserable?
If I weren't liking the show, I'd stay miserable watching for the rest of the season out of loyalty to Tim, hoping it would get better. As I did in 2002. And it did (get better).

I recommend a book club. Expand the mind.
Seriously, though, have you watched three episodes and you're still hoping it'll get better? 'Cause you're much more patient than I am. I'll give a show, at best, 1.5 chances. Two if I'm really feeling generous.

I haven't been bowling since I saw what happened to Donny in The Big Lebowski.

And what happened to all the other fine young men who gave their lives in Danang as well.

I have trouble dropping shows. I'm very...completist, and I do always hold out the hope that things will get better. Because I'd feel bad for missing any good that came out of it. I stuck with Tru Calling for a while, and it did, in fact, get much better and more interesting by the end.
