[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

I may have to seize the cat.

I don't remember why, but recently there was some discussion comparing my boyfriend to Angel (I guess they both have dark hair and are tall? that's about where genuine similarities end) and there was some joking about how whether or not boyf was evil, and if perhaps he wasn't evil because he'd never achieved true happiness (this accompanied by some sheepish looks from me), and boyf pointed out that as he owns no leather pants, we'll never be able to tell when he has a soul and when he doesn't.

What is even happening?

He can't be evil without leather pants. A former husband of a Bronzer had this wonderful fanwankolicious theory about how the leather pants made Angel evil. I fear it's lost to time and the interbunny, though.

Was it better than Holli's assessment of Buffy's leather pants and which colors meant what?

Probably not, but it was probably just as good.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

boyf pointed out that as he owns no leather pants, we'll never be able to tell when he has a soul and when he doesn't.

this must be rectified.

On the other hand, at least he won't have a Ross-type leather pants incident.

Life is eternal, Love is immortal, and death is only an illusion.

That is so funny!

During seaosn four all the way up to Orpheus, I kept saying I thought it was Angel pretending because he was not waering leather pants. Angelus would have found some leather.

Come on everytime you are bad in sunnydale, the leather shop was there to help, guess there was none in L.A????

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Given the particular method they used to turn him in "Awakening," they would have had the perfect opportunity to give the Leather Pants of Evil a nod by having Angel request a dry pair and tell the gang where his leathers were hanging at the beginning of "Soulless."

Correlation is not causation...

No, I don't think so. He's not really the "leather pants" type. I myself have a pair of Faithpants (vinyl), which can be used to indicate when I'm feeling skinny, though not evil. Of course, the other test boyf refers to when we watch Angel is the -mere- test. If Angel is shirtless, then -mere- had a hand in the episode, goes the old saying. (I think this has been proven wrong a number of times, but it's a fun theory anyway.) So now I'm wondering, if we continue to draw the parallels between my boyfriend and Angel - if my boyfriend takes off his shirt, does that mean -mere- is COMPOSING his life? If so, a big thumbs up to her! She should write it more.

ETA: Also, I'm pretty sure leather pants are readily available in LA.

If I only had a brain...

My husband has been saying "Don't be evil" when he drops me off to work each day. I have pointed out that since my leather pants don't fit any more, I can no longer be evil by definition.
