Brimestone was quite ok, but the loss of Good vs. Evil still makes me weep sometimes.
Tim on FX would be really nice, but they seem to be a bit picky nowadays.
'The Message'
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Can anyone translate Boreanazese?
I know what the writer means, although my own affection for DB has been increased by those occasions that I've met him, non sequiturs and all. By contrast, some of the shine does rub off Christian Kane without a Mutant Enemy script as a buffer between him and the audience.

Not if it's replaced by Prince lyrics, for me.
Oh admittedly, while he's singing? Golden. But the morning (and afternoon) after a night on the town is Not Pretty in any sense of the word.

Anyone I know who has met him has had nothing but nice things to say about him, and on the DVD commentary, it seems to me that more than once, Joss has commented on what a sweetheart he is. I think I told the story here, or maybe in one of the other threads, about my Bronzer friend who was a valet at his house, for one of his parties. She said that both he and his father went out of their way to make sure the valets were comfortable, and having as good a time as you can when working a party, and were chatty with them. To me, that's a Hollywood equivalent of the "someone who's nice to the waiter is nice" tool of assessment.
Nothing mutually exclusive aobout being nice and nonsensical, of course. In fact, I think I'd take a decent human who confuses me over creep who is brilliantly articulate. Actually, I know I would.
Brimstone.
A great show that did not only did not make it commercially but was critically under-rated.
Among other things it is perhaps the ultimate distillation of the "good cop working for the tough boss from hell" trope.

Also John Glover doesn't just play evil well, he is Evil.

He was the best devil ever! And having so much fun with it?
Oh, that one line still gives me chills:
"Dont be a fool. The only thing I ever loved was God... and that was a LONG time ago!"
