[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Gus - I agree. The chance to snark at someone trying to read politics into it that were not there interested me, at least for one post.

On edit. On second thought I'm not sure locating it in the FBI automatically locates the politics on the right. But I agree that an extended discussion of the politics of The Inside would not be interesting.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Personally ... the politics of The Inside don't interest me because they don't interest me. Any extrapolation I might do is me projecting, not me knowing.

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

What ita said. The FBI being right of center is a projection on my part.

Still, the presumption of guilt seems to be a thing (to me, maybe only to me) in The Inside.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

What ita said.

That said (yeah, shut up) am I reading it wrong in thinking that the article (which I skimmed until about the half-way point) is actually praising the "radical" viewpoint? Not so much what I'd have thought from the comments. But Gus's point about the presumption of guilt and just the show in general - I feel a much more rightist vibe than lefty.

No, I think it's praise too. I just think it's really weird praise and kinda like that other review that was very positive but made me wonder what show they were watching.

Weird and what-show I totally agree with.

Guy #1: Man, there are so many hipsters around. I hate hipsters! Guy #2: You're at the wrong place. That's like going to Vegas only to say "I hate titties!" --The Warsaw, Williamsburg (OINY)

Where you've seen the Big Stupidhead Boss - he was Tuvik the Tuvok-clone on Voyager. Sad that I know that, huh?

I liked this ep a lot but agree it was totally squickifying on so many levels. The nail-biting was ewww and I had to cover my eyes and at one point stop my ears. But that was nothing compared to Web: creee. peee. The BF thought the show had no balls because he wasn't the killer, but I thought he was creepier here than ever.

Paul was so cute in his white knight scene. I love it when JH's cheeks get all flushed and he's fully Boy Scout.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Apologies, it wasn't flamebait. I think some people got that backwards.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

arby, my SO picked up that the boss was Tuvix. I laughed him out of the house.

I guess I'll have to let him back in then.

I may have to seize the cat.

Thanks Cindy, P-C, Frankenbuddha. I only just watched the episode NOW, which is why I am so late with the thank yous.

I was reading posts about the last episode of the inside, and someone was appalled that Web suffered no consequences from hanging the hooker out on a limb and being responsible for her attack. The poster said that obviously Tim had learned nothing from Joss.

Am I the only person who doesn't CARE if Tim learned anything from Joss? Who might in fact, DANCE, if Tim deliberately ignored some Joss-things? There's something to be said for making one's own mark on the world. Isn't there? (Tim, this is not an invitation for you to go around ACTUALLY making marks places, cuz ew.)

Also, also - is it not true that sometimes in life, people do bad things and don't get in trouble for it? Allyson has repeatedly brought up the noirness of TI, and since I recently took a Barnes and Noble University on noir I am, of course, now an expert... but one of the common themes in noir is that bad stuff happens, and the people who did the bad stuff get away with it.

Art doesn't ALWAYS have to be didactic, I hope.
