The Minearverse 4: Support Group for Clumsy People
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
Last night's eps were, IMnotsoveryHO, by far the best yet. I lovedlovedloved the first one, especially since it seemed to address some of my concerns about this being The Rebecca Show. The more I see of Mel and Danny, the more I love them. And, as my friend put it, the twists seemed real, not just there to be twisty.
I was a little worried about the second one, because it sounded less intriguing going into it. Then I saw that it was co-written by our Tim, and the tension went way up. It had to be good, yet I wasn't sure that it would be. Oh, me of little faith. I should have known Tim would come through!
The Inside
love has grown slowly with me, but I'm glad I stuck it through, because these eps alone were worth it, and now I am dying to see what they do with Web.
Ratings slowly creeping up, not that it matters.
At 9 p.m., the "Dancing" finale, which saw Monaco and Alec Mazo beat out John O'Hurley and Charlotte Jorgensen, soared to a 13.9/23. NBC was a distant second with another "Law & Order," 5.6/9. CBS stayed in third with "The King of Queens," 3.2/5, and "Yes, Dear," 3.0/5. A second episode of "The Inside" on FOX improved slightly to 2.6/4. The WB dropped down to fifth with "Smallville," which finished ahead of "Veronica Mars" on UPN
I'm keeping my eyes blurred while I scroll through here to post, as I'm halfway through last night's second ep.
Damn, I was tense during the scene when Paul home with the music playing. I've half been expecting Paul's wife to be toast, and was so sure she'd be all heart-free upstairs, even though that's how it was set up and I should obviously have expected a misdirection or a cat in the closet.
I wish I hadn't missed the Watch and Post last night. Back to the ep.

Bridget Fonda look-alike Rachel Nichols
Wu-huh????
Bridget Fonda Lookalike - you aren't surprised by that, are you? That's the first thing I said when I turned on the very first episode! She looks so much like her (when she was younger, of course), it's amazing!
I really don't see it. At all. Maybe I'm just distracted by the hair color.
Ok I just got through the second hour..
OMG I swear that was the best two hours of anything i have watched all year...
I am totally hooked.... (before last night I was not completely commited enjoyed it but....) Now I am just sad..
Bridget Fonda look-alike Rachel Nichols
Wu-huh????
Oh yeah, I saw that way before I saw the Jodi Foster. In fact, after Tim mentioned Foster, my first thought was he was on crack, because RN looks so much like Bridget Fonda, to me.
First post.
I loved last night's episodes. I really wish those had been the pilot, minus the Web twist, since it wouldn't have worked that early in the season. They did a great job of setting up the characters and really giving them depth and drawing the viewer in. The scene in Dugan's and the emphasis on the comraderie of the team had a real Firefly feel to it, or at least I thought that's where they were going with it. I love the guy who played Billy Ray Pope, Casey Siemaszko. Not so much as a nut job or crook, though I thought he did a good job last night, but he was such a great geek in "3 O'Clock High". I'll always love him for that role and wish he'd get cast as the lovable loser more often.
I'm sure I'm going crazy, but the voice of the dead girl on tape talking to the suicide hotline, I could have sworn it was Summer Glau. I wish I'd taped the episode. Can someone who did, give it another listen and tell me if I'm just some Firefly loser who sees Firefly in everything now?
if, if, if. And Oh, Lucky Man.
Tim said that quite a few pages back and can I just say that is an awesome out-of-the-blue reference. I love those movies. When I was younger I wanted to name my band Chocolate Sandwich.
Now that "Dancing with the Stars" is over do we still have to pretend Evander Holyfield can dance?..was that a for-all-time thing?
