You know what would work for the advertisers? Encouraging the use of TiVos or DVRs with the capacity to watch two channels. Because if I'm recording something, I'm always looking to see if I'm missing something I could be watching at the same time. Hell, if I had the capacity to tape three things at once, I'd start taping two things and surf the third channel.
This does mean I end up watching with commercials the shows I don't care enough to tape, but skip commercials on the good shows.
I am Perkins wrt ad watching.
I don't watch anything live since I got the DVR.
If I'm home when it's on, and not busy, I watch. If it's sports, I really try to watch.
Unless there's a sudden manifestation of a life, for instance, I'll be watching Sci Fi channel's Friday lineup pretty close to real time.
who are these strange 10-percenters? Ad execs?
It's a group of the 5th dentists that don't approve of the toothpaste.
sara, scooter #3, which I swear used to be an image I udes somewhere.
Raquel, I am in love with that. Smart Cars are so cute.
So it's a matter of getting bit by squirrels and such like, making one incapable of pressing the FF button?
Or sometimes your 27 pound cat has decided to sit on top of the Tivo remote, and it's just not worth it.
When I've taped stuff the old-fashioned way, I forget to ff through commercials much of the time. I just never pay that much attention to the tv, I guess.
Raquel, I am in love with that. Smart Cars are so cute.
I think that Mercedes has been planning to start selling Smart Cars in the U.S. in a couple of years or so, but not the really tiny ones right away.
who are these strange 10-percenters? Ad execs?
probably people who are running to the kitchen for a drink or something like that, so they don't bother to fast forward. At least, that's the only reason I don't do it.
