I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

It's the most like this one: [link] but the bangs are more like the ones on the one on the right here, but shorter: [link]

eta: It's more auburn than red, and is quite a bit darker than the last time you saw me.

That's probably a horrible description, but it's cute, and short, and I like it.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Sounds like a great haircut, Perkins. I am sure it looks foamy.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Heather? Got kicked out of where? And there were Marines?

I'm glad you like your haircut, Perkins. Too much bangs for my taste, but I'll bet it's cute on you.

Happy belated Birthday, sara!

Uh, that's all. Still not sleepy, but I'm gonna try it again, anyway.

There aren't really that many bangs-- just more then there were in the first picture, cuz of the cowlick.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

peppermint stick ice cream

Best ice cream. Possibly best dessert. Except interstellar chocolate love cake, which is even more decadent than it sounds, and really can only be consumed perhaps once a year.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That sounds great, Perkins. I can't wait to see it.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Sarameg, I realize that practically everyone is made uneasy by the thought of parental sex, but from an outsider's perspective it is sweet that your folks are romantic and plan secluded rendezvous together at their age.

What is even happening?

sara, what Matt said.

That Yeah was for what Kristen said, but I guess you have a point too, ita.
Only a small one though.
Don't worry, a couple more blows to the head, and it'll be all smoothed out.

It cracks me up that my parents used to think trampolining was a safe pursuit they could leave me unattended at for hours with no supervision. Not only were trampoline injuries frequent and varied, some of us devised a way to use it as a weapon against playmates—coordinating our jump harmonics to catch the third person with a rebound and catapult him off the thing altogether.

We learned it in gym, in elementary school, so of course, the only times I ever did it, there were spotters galore, etc. I was shocked when everyoen started getting them for their kids. Apparently, so were the indemnity insurers. You either can't get one here, or it blows your homeowners' rates so sky high, you can't afford the trampoline, anyhow.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hope thirty is a great age for you, sarameg! I seem to recall it was for me. Your parents are very cute.

I like those bangs, Perkins. I can't combine the images in my head, but I bet it's a good cut.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

It is 9:39 and I'm just barely awake here. Going back to sleep when I woke up at 6 seemed like a good idea at the time, and I do seem to be well-rested now, but now my body seems to be set on "sleep" mode!

In other news, I saw some fabulous program items at Readercon, hung with some really nice friends, and lucked into a dinner with Joe & Gay Haldeman. Off to a blessedly shorter day today!
