Poor kitty...has he called the ASPCA to get the "lion cut" outlawed?

Why is Bush even at the G-8? It's not like he's a big believer in global warming, and his stance on the redistribution of wealth clearly doesn't include ending African poverty.

AP is saying 4 bombs, now.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And I just learned that the NYPD will be doing drills outside work today.

Yeah, pre-planned subway terror drills here today. Nice timing.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

The BBC is reporting that contrary to earlier reports, there were four explosions.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Not that I know of. But I don't know what the cats do while we're at work.

Hubs called (he's at work). Says Metro was normal for the commute in at 7-8 a.m., Eastern U.S. time.

Swouncing

so I e-mailed her instead and left the phone lines to people who don't know their loved ones are okay.

ita, I'm glad that things seem OK for your family. Also, very thoughtful of you, to keep the phone lines open.

Good ol' internet - source of reassurances that relatives of friends are okay, and cat talk. Glad to hear that sis is fine, ita. Hope everyone hears from loved ones soon.

So, how's that war working out again?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Gah. What a morning. Woke up (late) to the news about London. Listening to NPR online right now.

(Thank god all of my London friends/family remembered to post that they were okay, or I'd be a wreck.)

All my London co-workers are fine, but on a security alert, so work's gonna be slow today.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm glad to hear Jamaica is not too worried about Dennis. I was all prepared to stress out over the hurricane all day, and then woke up to the London news. Which promptly took over most of worrying capacity.

And which no one is talking about here at work. It's weird.

Jeez, 40 reported dead now...and the news outlets have big BREAKING NEWS headlines up, which makes it an official EVENT.

Art Crawl!!!

Yeah, when I got home last night I watched the BBC news so that I could catch all the happy Olympics celebrating. Then this morning NPR woke me up with the bombings and I was no. no. London is happy, celebrating. What a terrible turn of events.
