"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Okay, at least I am no longer the only freak who is awake at this hour of morning. Hi, DX. Sorry I missed you (by 2-3 hours), Matt.

Happies to people. I have seen sj describe appropriate levels of revelry (ooh! Rhyme!) for her felicitations, but Beverly has been less forthcoming. If you go hang-gliding for your anniversary, and don't tell us, we shall never forgive you. Sniff.

Actually I have nothing at all to say except it is 8:20 am, I have been up for 2.5 hours, it is lovely out, and I am not wearing any pants.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Good morning, Ms. Nutty! It is a lovely day out. I'm sitting here with coffee and devils food cookies. I am also wearing pants.

I'm awake! But as it's almost 4 in the afternoon, this isn't all that unusual.

Happy birthday sj (repeated in Bitches) and happy anniversary to Beverly and DH. I see Nutty's "levels of revelry" and add a "Beverly revelry."

It's thunderstorming here. Weird light.

I'm wearing cargo pants. We had pancakes for breakfast, and now I'm grilling kebabs to go with the leftover stuffed cabbage leaves, and there will be olives, feta, and bread with olive oil.

People, if you are travelling with someone over the age of 18 and they decide they don't want to keep travelling with you, do not call the American Embassy and ask to have them "taken into custody." That's called kidnapping. (There's more to it, but nothing that mitigates the above...and any more and I'd risk violating someone's privacy. But still.)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I am wearing yellow pajama pants with orange flowers. I have not yet settled on what to have for breakfast. The dog is getting restive, so I may have to drag myself off the couch soon regardless.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Thank you for the virtual birthday happies.

Last night was pretty mellow for a bachelor night (a Seadogs - minor league baseball - game and a big red sauce Italian dinner), though it went awfully late (entrees started coming out at 10 pm, though no one was hungry at that point because of the omnipresent appetizers). I don't know if the folks who didn't have to carpool back to Brunswick took the groom on any wacky adventures, but, despite knowing the groom since Kindergarten, I was not up for naughty bachelor "fun", especially on my birthday, so I was happy to miss it.

Rehersal and dinner tonight, then wedding/reception and make an early break to catch part of my family annual out on Peak's island. I am going to be so exhausted it may actually be a pleasure to get back into boring office routine.

Oh well, off for crepes with my Mother and brother. I may not make it to the family thing before she takes off, so I'm trying to maximize other time with her.

Have a good 4th, all!!!!
