Every nightmare I have that doesn't revolve around academic failure or public nudity is about that thing. In fact, once I dreamt that it attacked me while I was late for a test and naked.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

So what are people doing for the 4th

I'm going to go to Seattle and veg and nap and watch Veronica Mars and eat sushi and play with sparklers and take a bath in a real tub and buy lipstick and nap and hopefully babysit just a little so Plei can do whatever she wants for an hour and nap.

Going to the airport for a couple of hours and then realizing that the reason the person sitting across from me is looking at me intently is that my nose is bleeding and then about 34 seconds hearing the announcement that the already hour delayed flight is also overbooked and would someone be willing to give up their seat for a free roundtrip ticket, head home with said free ticket and a ticket to Seattle in two weeks, and pour myself a rather large margarita.

After that, dunno.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

We're doing the ritual cookout and setting off of ground-based fireworks (the process of the fireworks really is the best part). We're doing a belated-4th paintball game next Friday.

After the traditional singing of the Wilhousky arrangement of the Battle Hymn of the Republic in church on Sunday.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I am hopefully doing nothing at all on the 4th. Teacup Guy has the day off from work which is a rare occassion, so hopefully we are just going to stay in and relax all day.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, Perkins, that's no good. Are you feeling okay?

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

{{{Perkins}}}

Right now I'm baking chocolate chip pumpkin muffins and bread, in one of my periodic attempts to make my own junk food, because it tastes better than the bought kind and is probably marginally better for me.

Monday I'm going to go watch re-enactors and hopefully play with their muskets a little.

Are you feeling okay?

Mostly. I think it's just a reaction to all of the allergy meds I've been taking lately.

Oddly mesmerizing

Jessica's bubble woman keeps getting stuck on bubbles.

It's kind of nice to see her able to rest.

I forgot to mention one thing.

Alaska Air can totally EAT IT.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Happy Birthday, Frank!

Sorry about the trip, Perkins.
