Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I still don't think it's that hot here.

I didn't know that catching fish with your hands was called "noodling fish", I thought it was called something else. . . tickleing . . . but maybe you only tickle trout.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Aimée, where did you have the curry?

Former Boss's daughter just graduated from high school and she had a graduation party. FB's mom and sister are here for a month and from what I saw, spent about 7 hours cooking that day.

Can I just say, Dayum.

Goat, plantains, rice, this awesome chicken, steak and rum punch. And then this wierd chopped cocnut stuff. And fresh sugar cane.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Everything except for the fresh sugar cane sounds marvellous. I have cane juice issues.

Is that coconut thingie a Jamaican thing? It was....oddly textured.

And wow Hit Me Baby One More Time *is* bad tonight.

Was it in coconut in a pastry shell? Like an open faced mini-pie?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

No, it was all mixed with brown sugar and sticky. BIG chunks of coconut.

Those sound like coconut drops (why can't I spell today?). I can only handle them sparingly. Jamaicans like their sugar.
