The trick is though that they sort of explained the weakness in a way that let them get Hal Jordan back free and clear. Between that and finally having a decent explanation for what green lantern energy actually is, I'm willing to overlook the silliness of the weakness.
Considering the original Alan Scott weakness was wood, it's not as if they lack a 65 year tradition of WTF?-ness.

I never had much of a problem with it. I figured it was a function of the spectral characteristics of the ring's light. I thought the recent change to blame it all on Parallax was kind of dumb.
