My mom used to say, when we were kids, that the best sign for somebody feeling better is when they start complaining that they're bored.

My mother called it acting like a wounded tiger. Apparently my brother and I were rather surly.

Not much has changed.....

Very steamy outside. But, thunderstorms! Theoretically, anyway.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

This needs context? Okay, tommyrot. I need to see your Buffista i.d. card, right now.

I just wanted to know if he was refering to the woman he was writing, or their hypothetical offspring.

How do adults date?

Starts laughing. Not hysterically.

Someone else will have to answer this. I'm more likely to have a meteor crash through the trunk of my car.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Ignoring the grammar, what's with too much to give and too needy? How are those related?

Maybe they're assuming that the giveage demands a response. Or at least being physically present.

Or maybe it's just that concerns such as grammar are deemed signs of a small mind when in the presence of Princess Di.

My radio is playing "Living On The Ceiling"! It's going to get headpats for that.

move out and draw fire

I'm off to go pick up the DH, as we got mail today, so rather than making him walk the 5 miles home in the heat with boxes, I will load the baby into the car and go get him. Of course, Mal fell asleep exactly 3 minutes ago, so great timing there.

See y'all later.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think it's officially over for TomKat. In the little free newspaper, there was this caption to a picture of them:

Katie Holmes gives fiance Tom Cruise the heimlich as he chokes on his own craziness at the premiere of "War of the Worlds" on Thursday at Midtown's Ziegfield Theatre.

Note: This was not on the snarky gossip page.

In work news, I was relieved to find the letter I left for the messenger on Thursday was not still here. Phew!

Also, I'm a little confused because AIM says my boss is active, but I can't hear him typing. Is he here or not? Who knows.

Swouncing

How do adults date?

You mean other than blind-dates set up by friends (oh, and others who think that if two people are in the same age range that's enough for them to find true love forever or at least finally realize that they never will and just get married already and give their parents grandchildren and some comfort. Um, not that I've ever met any of these.)? I have no idea.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Nilly, you are still here!

Earlier, you asked:

Are the cats all settled, as well? And all the new-job-messes?

Yes on the cats. The new job is getting better, and more settled.

Man, I wish my friends would set me up on blind dates. I've got nothing!!
