Just general whininess, which a Klondike Bar has failed to cure
That's unpossible!
Looniversity crap, or general trapped-indoors-on-a-lovely-day malaise?
My own whininess: I am dreading going in to work. Assloads of typing to do, and it's not like I've been slacking off (more than usual) this week either. It's just that all the talky people I have to type up this week are
very
talky, and the stuff that usually takes 45 minutes is now 3-4 hours a day. Which, since I still have another 6 hours' worth of work a day anyhow, is fairly disastrous.
But at least, for now, I'm at home, slounging around in my prettiest pajamas, and at 4:00 I get to take a short break to trot around the corner to the circus camp and watch Emmett do trampoline work. It's not a Klondike bar, but it'll do.
I should strip for the call, just on principle. What fun is working from home if you can't be naked??
when I worked at home, I took a perverse pleasure in tallking to people in my jammies. The more important you were (or thought you were), the less I bothered to dress.
Ah, memories of my first on-campus interview during law school. I was wearing shorts and a polo shirt, barefoot, and hadn't shaved that day.
The firm had canceled the physical on-campus interviews but called me and conducted the interview over the phone.
Muppets Statler, Waldorf review movies
LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) -- Curmudgeons don't come much more lovable than Statler and Waldorf, the grumpy old men who offered unsolicited and witty comments on "The Muppet Show." Now the puppet duo is getting a regular spot on [link] to share their inimitable reviews of upcoming films with online fans.
"Statler and Waldorf -- From the Balcony" kicked off Thursday with their remarks on Friday release "Bewitched" and "War of the Worlds," which opens next Wednesday.
I've sat through a conference call in the office with no pants on.
Only once though.
Perkins, all it takes is once for a girl to get a reputation. I'm just sayin'....
I did not know that "readier" was a word. I've always used "more ready."
Is this a new thing? Is everyone else familiar with "readier"?
Huh.
Italy Judge Orders Arrest of 13 CIA Agents
ROME (AP) -- An Italian judge has ordered the arrest of 13 CIA agents for allegedly helping deport an imam to Egypt as part of U.S. anti-terrorism efforts, an Italian official familiar with the investigation said Friday.
....
Prosecutors believe the agents seized Omar as part of the CIA's ''extraordinary rendition'' program, in which terror suspects are transferred to third countries without court approval, according to reports Friday in newspapers Corriere della Sera and Il Giorno.
It'll be interesting if the arrests actually happen. My guess is that those agents won't set foot in Italy again.
