You know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I go get and beat you with until you understand who's in ruttin' command here.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Dear lord -- I have this part time job/internship thing, right? But the office I'm sitting in is a big fancy office, just because it was empty. One of the teachers just came in asking me about a meeting that was scheduled for today, but the people aren't here. He was like, "Isn't that your meeting? Aren't you in charge?" I was like HELL NO! I am not in charge of anything!! Cripes.

Does learning to shoot count? Because I could do that.

Does learning to shoot count?

Among job and school changes, marriages and births?

I fear not.

This is why I don't usually have goals, dammit.

Despite not having Things going on in my life, I think I have to volunteer to manage a huge project with lots of room for stress.

If only it weren't in my job desciption. I'd better leave for lunch and comics while I'm still free.

Every time I drive past the old armory during a gun show, I'm reminded I want to learn to shoot someday.

And then I forget until the next time I go by it.

My dad keeps telling me he'll take me out when I'm home, but he never has. I think it is because he doesn't want to deal with mom's glares. (She REALLY doesn't like having a weapon in the house, even though he keeps it broken down, parts stored in 2 different safes and the ammo in a lockbox elsewhere.)

"When I look at people that I would like to feel have been a mentor or an inspiring kind of archetype of what I'd love to see my career eventually be mentioned as a footnote for in the same paragraph, it would be, like, Bowie." ~Trent Reznor

"And if you took that as the image of what is a great city that has an incredible quality of life and an incredible economy, it's amazing to me. Go to Iraq. And see what's actually happening there... Everybody that comes from Iraq is amazed at the difference of what they see on the ground and what they see on the television set."
He says this as if any of us could actually go to Iraq right now and get proof of that claim.
