Well, quite a lot of fuss. If I didn't know better, I'd think we were dangerous.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Not it, then. Just curious about the new job. (I work with non-profits in development, which kind of sounded like what you did/do.)

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

tonight is gonna be another late night - no chance of getting to sleep anytime soon.

My grandmother just told me to just tell them when my last day will be and if they protest to say "tough". HAHAHA. But I guess she's right. I will never use them as a reference so who cares.

brenda - the new job is a start-up for-profit. I have crossed over and sold out for more money and hopefully saner bosses.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

and hopefully saner bosses

Wait, at a start-up ?

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

You must listen to your grandma!

Good on ya. We all need to sell out once in a while.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Dumb question: When someone quits smoking cold turkey, about how long does it take for the nicotine withdrawal symptoms (esp. irritability) to set in and subside?

Now tagless for your comfort.

If we're talking about my mother, 25 years.

DX - zip it. I have met them and they seem sane. They are not all young crazy kids - they are parents and settled type folks. Sure, there will be long hours for deadlines and stuff, but they swear mostly normal work days.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

If you have insurance, they can proscribe drugs for that. A friend of mine was on them when he quit, but he never really got irritable, so they just made him super cheery. He had to get off them because his wife who'd just had a baby couldn't take it.
