And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Huh. I've obviously seen her on tv, but she's not ringing a bell.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Can someone channel for me?

I need to know about big cars in small spots. You know you have a mondo SUV. This isn't news.

What's so attractive about compact spaces? I have a Jetta, and I rarely use them -- and I know there were full-sized spaces when you got here, because I watched you drive through one on your way to compact land and park one impinged spot over from the extenda-cab pickup that's filling the space entirely as well as letting its ass hang into the fullsize spot behind it.

What the FUCK is your damage?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

In most cases, I park my minivan (not compact) in compact spaces when that's literally all there is. It's like tha at the MTA parking lots. They are 90% compact spaces, it seems. So, I have to park in them. I hate it, but otheriwse I have to either just drive to work or start paying $38/month for a full size space.

What irritates me is when a teeny tiny car is parked in a regular space when there are a billion compact spaces.

See, these two cars that bothered me had the fullsize option. One was basically in one too, and I watched the other drive through one to its compact destination.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

What irritates me is when a teeny tiny car is parked in a regular space when there are a billion compact spaces.

Heh. I park anywhere I can find a spot, labeling be damned. This is San Francisco and parking here is an officially sanctioned city sport, and very competitive. I can parallel park the car in a space that only has 2 inches of leeway on either side.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

If there are full size spaces, then they totally suck, ita.

And David, as you know, parking in LA is just as competitive. Especially with the new trend of 90% of parking lots being repainted and relabeled "Compact". If it's all that's there, it's what I park in, but just as full sized cars should NOT park in compact spaces when there are full size spots open, compacts should do the same.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Favorite overheard thing involving San Francisco parking:

I saw it first, you fucking bitch!

From a woman who was mad that someone made a u-turn and took the spot she wanted before she could get to it.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We have bypassed spring and are in the heart of summer, weather-wise. It's kinda melty out there.

For some reason I can't pin down, I think Viggo would be most likely to be successful, so I'd go with him.

Yeah, much as I love Hugh, his talent for singing and dancing doesn't fill me with confidence in his rescue abilities. Reports from New Zealand lead me to believe that Viggo is the most capable of the three, though the least attractive IMHO.

For the women it'd be Angelina all the way—I want someone crazier than the terrorists on my side.
