Minor Fasts [one of which is the Fast of Gedaliah]: There are five other fast days scheduled at various times of the year, which are observed only from sunrise to sunset. For the 10% or so of Jews who observe these fasts, no accommodations are usually needed, other than sensitivity for the fact that they are not eating.
lisah, I may take you up on it. I've got to walk (hopefully) over to Brentwood after work tomorrow to (hopefully) pick up my car. I have your work email, yes?
Yeah. Most Orthodox Jews that I know will stay home if they can on minor fast days, but if there's something they have to do, they'll do it.
Excellent. Thanks, y'all.

You should or use my profile address. I can leave the tape on my front porch for you.
Glad your parental visit went well, sarameg.
So we went to a bookstore for a bit and I got dad the Feynman's letters book for Father's Day (mom is smuggling it back in the luggage.) I want to read it now. The letters were compiled from his papers by his daughter, which...well, it's a good gift for the occasion.
The daughter is speaking on this here this week. I'm trying to see if I have time to catch it.
Oh lori, you should. Waiting in line, I read a prologue from her, detailing who he was to her (namely, goofy dad) and...I've also read reviews of it and it just sounds like such an interesting view of him.
lisah, the porch method sounds good, if that's ok with you.
Good recommendations. It's actually next week, and I will make time!

If it's the same group as was mentioned in that blog, they're going to be pissed at being "outed". "How did the evil children find us!"
