the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

Clearly, I would not be getting my hair cut by Nick.

Well, sure. But in my dream world, he could cut my hair however he wanted.

But! I'd probably be getting it cut by someone who is being trained by someone who was trained by Nick!

And that's still really cool!

For twenty bucks!

And that may just be the very bestest part!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

AND I wouldn't have to take off work to do it, the best part. I've been going back and forth about whether I actually get paid little enough to take a day off for a free haircut.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You know, my professional career has always been about reducing the amount of paper in the enterprise. Always. It's the raison d'etre of this department. Why, then, do I come in to see a printed out e-mail on my chair with handwriting on it? My boss doesn't sit remotely near my sube. That can't have been the easy answer.

Coding and Sleeping

Hey, it's started to rain. That's not right, I was thinking about doing some work on the backyard spaceship after work. Maybe I'll clean the basement instead.

Oh good, I had a hivemind question about dishwashers, and now the subject actually has come up (the plate of shrimp lattice of coincidence strikes again).

Until this February, I've never really had a dishwasher before. Somehow, I got it in my head that you are not supposed to clean non-stick pots and pans in one. Is that correct, or have I just been making extra work for myself for 4 months?

I know a good stainless steel pan I got recommends against it, and I KNOW you never wash cast iron that way, but I'm wondering if I made up the non-stick thing in my head.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

If it's an anodized metal sort of non-stick, definitely don't put it in the dishwasher. The detergent reacts with the coating. Laminates, I'm not sure.

Are these two types easy to tell apart, because I was either given or inherited all the non-stick stuff I have, and I'm not sure which kind it is.

Not by me. I know I have both, but only because I read the owner's manuals when I got them, because I am an owner's manual reading geek. But even with that, I can't remember which is which. I know I have some info on this in a book, and I might know which box said book would be in, I'll look when I get home.
