well, we still need to find a plumber to hook it all up.
The delivery guys didn't do that? Feh.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Welcome to Connie's Hell-of-a-Week. Wednesday, Hubby back surgery. Saturday, Billy Idol concert. The conflicting tensions of "My god, more surgery" and "My god, rock star in the flesh within reach" should be interesting.

Well, the gas dryer needs to be hooked up by a professional plumber. They didn't hook up the washer part, because there's no point, as it would be disconnected when the plumber got in there to do the dryer. I do not understand the whole gas=plumber thing, but that's the way it goes I guess. And Sears doesn't provide that service at all. (Best Buy does for an additional fee) But, hey, 20% off Kenmores, that was pretty sweet.
Cool pictures!
OMG, the internet is so cool!
I'm watching WeeSisterJay's Graduation Ceremony right now AIFG!!!
I mean, yes, it's on Dial Up, and the quality of pic and sound is wobbly as hell - but, dude, I'm watching her Graduation Ceremony! And I'm in fricking Egypt!

Oh, I forgot about the gas dryer. Yeah, gas appliances have to be hooked up by a plumber, and really, you don't want joe-delivery guy messing with a gas line. I don't understand about them not being able to hook up the washer, but imagine it doesn't matter until you get the dryer hooked up anyhow.
Other than the waiting game, how are you settling in? Does it feel like home, yet? That's what I really liked about your Somerville apartment. It very much felt like a home, not just a place.

I meant to comment on this, but my finger was too quick on the post button. That's so great, Fay! Are you watching it live?

Wonderful pictures, meara! Though I can't see the latest ones from Minnesota, just the exotic locales...
Yay Washer and Dryer! Yay graduating Fay's sister!
I'm having a really hard time remembering what day it is. I don't know if I just really want every weekend to be a three-day weekend, or if spending the day watching the weather has messed with my brain, but I keep thinking today is Tuesday...
I am watching it live. Which is very very cool. So even though she couldn't hear me, when BlokeInGownAndCap asked everyone to applaud the graduands, my applause was ringing out in Egypt just as everyone else's was ringing out in Leeds. And five minutes ago her name was read out and she went up to the podium! Except that the picture is v. erratic, and the sound keeps cutting out, so I was all on tenterhooks, going "...they've said Chinese and Modern Languages...no...no, right, Chinese and French...surely Chinese and German should be next? Fucking sudden silence! Stupid not-moving screen, comeoncomeoncomeoncome OHMYGOD IT'S HER! WHOOOOO! GO TEAM WEESISTERJAY! WHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" with the screaming and the clapping like a lunatic. And then the screen froze with her on it for several seconds, which was excellent. Yay for WeeSister!
She's going to be heading off to Taiwan with her Spanish boyfriend for a year next - think she's doing her masters in Chinese, and she's got a partial scholarship, which is cool. Can't remember what he's doing.

It's stackable, (and in a tight spot) so plugging in the W/D at this point would likely hinder the gas hookup efforts.

Aw, thanks! We're getting there. All the boxes are up on the third floor (more or less) but we're getting used to the place, and all our everyday stuff is unpacked. It's getting there, the feels like home feeling. Lots of time, I think it's too nice to be mine. But we make our mess and that helps with that.
Lots of time, I think it's too nice to be mine.Un-possible!
But we make our mess and that helps with that.Heh. I know what you mean. We felt like that a bit when we bought this house, but we've crapped it up sufficiently, since then.
