I've got a work-around that works really well. I wear a long sleeved denim shirt that's enough protection against almost everything. My regular gardening gloves are these (though I'm not sure if they're the ones at the top of the page or third from the bottom). They are the. best. gardening. gloves. ever. The local serious/professional hardware & lumber store sells them (as opposed to the home renovation store, like, say Orchard Supply) for work gloves. I don't know why all the gardening stores don't sell them because the knit cuff and flexible but impenetrable palm/fingers make them better than almost all others.

Had a good weekend with meara - Friday, we went to the opening of His Girl Friday at the Guthrie and then hooked up with another friend of hers to go to Twilight, a monthly lesbian event. Saturday, we toured the Mill City Museum and went to Bondage A Go-Go at Ground Zero to dance and watch the bondage show. She left amazingly early this morning, and should be home by now. There are pictures of meara in her FABOO corset and super-short skirt as well as me in my gothy prom dress, I just need to get around to uploading them, and it's feckin' hot in the computer room.

I get way too hot - even when it is on the chillier side I might start with long sleeves but I end up in short sleeves. However, with all the spiders out here - and the fact that some plants make me itch I have convinced my self to wear gloves most of the time. though it often ends up with only one glove on.
