The registered letter said they want to renovate the place. We've lived here for 20 years and never asked them to do anything, and I think the landlord thinks we bring down the property values. We've got the biggest apartment in the building and the lowest rent.
It's landlord's option around here if they want to renew contracts.

They've offered to do things, but it involves massive moving of stuff around and we've just fixed things ourselves. I *like* not having the landlord in my place. I'm actually rather surprised, because the house next door belongs to the landlord's parents, and landlord is waiting for them to die/move out so she can tear down all the buildings and put up a big complex.
