You're talking to Serenity. And, Early... Serenity is very unhappy.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

If it makes you feel any better, Ple, JZ is almost done with her hand decorated onesie for Lilybean. It's amazing what you can do with a bleach pencil.

Yay!

Except for my Inner Marxist coming out to play (dude, I thought I smushed her ass with Atlas Shrugged), and my Lingering Sense of Moral Outrage, it's been a nice day. Hung with Sparky, Pete and Jilli, and friends of the family (the reason we were in the old 'hood) before winding up at the house of my parents. Had some kick-ass ribs, a glass of wine, and took in the amazing view from S and J's beach cottage. (It's set on a hillside, and in addition to an incredible view, they have an amazing garden that I know was a lot of money and effort, yet looks as though it should always have looked that way--very peaceful spot.)

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Plei is me with the inner communist and looking at money spent that could buy people food. I think mine's congenital, but I keep trying to keep it damped down enough to coexist in today's society.

I have no idea why I'm up again. Oooh--Quantum Leap's on--the football ep!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Sounds like it was worth every penny and drop of sweat. Peaceful spots should be cherished like this.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Fay, they're moving in together after a very long long distance courtship.

Cool. Thought so, but hadn't seen it explicitly stated anywhere - evidently missed it in skipping and skimming and suchlike. Go Team.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Not having much luck with the online dating thing so far. I've decided to add a line:

If you let me cook for you, I will treat you like a goddess ("Please accept these burnt offerings").

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Heh.

Today is one of those days when I wake up early and can't get back to sleep. So I think I'll leave for work an hour early and have a nice breakfast in Evanston before going in to the office. Maybe at the Cajun plance. Mmmmm... grits....

Gah. Still only 5:30. Let's see if I can kill 2 1/2 hours with breakfast and getting to work. Pro'lly not - today will be one of those days when I confuse my bosses by getting in early.

eta: Wow, two hours later and no one's posted....

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Have I mentioned the plucky, can-do spirit of a bunch of bored, rich white people who every year have a drive to raise tens of thousands of dollars for a fireworks display off the Point? I swear to DOG, it brings out my inner commie, and all I can see is wealth that should be re-distributed.

Heh, Tom and I had similar Commie leanings after last year's Fourth festivities hanging out with such sterotypical rich yuppies. It was depressing because it meant I lost my old buddy to Them.

let's see...

dog pats to Bartelby. A big YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!! To Dan and Andi. We love love!!! And safe home arriving! Whee, for sj and Teacup Guy having a great weekend together. Dead from Ellie pic.

In mememe news, we had a very nice long weekend- extra long, because we both called out sick on Friday. Which was really, really, the right thing to do. We were both the walking dead. Metaphorically speaking. My parents came up for the weekend, which I was very apprehensive about, but it was an *awesome* visit, free of tension and aggravation, and very mellow and wonderful and I am so happy they came up. This is a very unexpected but fantastic turn of events. So, we're back in the routine of things, and I'm much more able to handle it than I was at the end of last week, and I'm feeling pretty perky, and the first 2 floors are more or less unpacked, and it feels like home, so we've gotten through to the other side, and it's all good.

Except, of course, we broke our garbage disposal on Sunday (inadvertantly sent a small mise en place glass bowl down it, and ran it), and I have a UTI, but, whatever. All very fixable. (hopefully)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Headpats to Bartleby.

And to Andi. My goodness. That's like a scene out of my nightmares. So glad Sammie was recovered.
