Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I use the oven quite frequently! Granted, the item being cooked is usually on a piece of foil, but still.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I just ended up taking a nap. And I had a really creepy dreams.

I've had trouble sleeping for the last several days and the ick factor has been increasing steadily. I really want this to stop. It's beginning to make insomnia look attractive.

Depp + Spike just went nice places in my mind...

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Daniel's ceiling has sparklies in it.

Harvey has already lost a toy mouse under the stove.

Both cats have come back from house explorations with dust bunnies on them. hee. I told Daniel he should spray them down with End Dust and chase 'em around.

Daniel drove most of the way of the way. Poor guy. I figured that I could drive 2-3 hours at a time, spelling him a bit, and letting him get a nap while still continuing on the way. Turns out, I could only keep my eyes open for an hour at most, and several times I took the wheel only to zone out within half an hour. After less than a day on the road, I was begging for a bed. So we stopped in Tucumcari, NM, where there was a power-outage that lasted for 4 hours. It had been in the triple-digits during the day, so that long without A/C was unpleasant for me, and torment for Dan.

We almost lost Sammie at a rest stop. Thinking that they were getting cool with the travel thing, I made the mistake of taking both cats out by myself. We were hanging around at a picnic ramada off at the end of the pet-walking area, which seemed out of the way and not occupied. After a few minutes of cats sniffing things and walking about a bit, we were surprised when a family with small children came walking up to the ramada. Naturally the children yelled "Kitties!" and started toward us. Naturally the cats ran in panic. Harvey's leash got caught in a bush. Sammie got to the end of hers, and started flipping around in a horribly panicked way. She got free of the harness and took off running. Toward the highway.

Fortunately, the observant, quick-witted man Sammie was going to run past in her flight blocked her way. She ran back up toward the building with the bathrooms, and other people made a perimeter around her, which caused her to freeze long enough for me to approach her. I got hold of her, and took her back to where Harvey and her harness were waiting. Held myself together long enough to get back to the van with them, then cried until Dan came back out. He'd been checking email and posting, I think. After Dan came out, I cried even more. And several times after that.

Daniel was sooooo good to me on the road. He made a nice meal for me at the motel, and so many other thoughtful things. Then he was so comforting about Sammie. I gots me a good guy.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Miss Cass, I have a theory as to just what that place might be...

Wow, Andi, I'm glad nothing happened to Sammie. Poor, traumatized kitty, and owner!

I think my heart would still be pounding, Andi.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Teacup Guy and I had another great day today. This is the first time he has had two days off in a row since we met. We went to go see Bewitched tonight. It was the only movie we could agree on, and it was much better than I was expecting it to be. I so don't want him to go to work tomorrow.

Stephanie, Ellie has the most beautiful eyes and the cutest heart shaped mouth! That is one of the cutest pictures ever.

Johnny Depp dipped in a very dark, slightly bitter chocolate would make me so amazingly happy.

Mmmmm.

Depp + Spike

Double Mmmmm.

Tis. Sometimes when I close my eyes, I get a replay of the mental images I had watching Sammie run toward the highway.

I love sparkley ceilings, it's like having stars twinkle at you.

So scary! I don't think I would be calmed down yet even. Pet scares are just so terrifying. Try to turn the replay off if you can.

I have fireworks on the tv trying to fake out the cats and convince them the fireworks outside are not a big deal. Puppycat seems to have maybe fallen for it as she is still out and not twitching too much. Kittenish is nowhere to be seen. [She just showed up. To mock me, I assume.]

I wonder if the fireworks have to stop at 10. [Wow, the power of posting. I hear ... nothing.] Seven more minutes to find out. Stupid new ballpark is having a massive display from the sound of it.

I have a theory as to just what that place might be...
Well, it's not a garage...

I'm glad you had a nice couple of days with Teacup Guy, sj.

I am going to try and go to sleep soon, perchance not to dream.

Compassionately intolerant

Oh geesh. Just the thought of my furry critter running around anywhere dangerous, much less a freeway, makes me swoon...in the medical, nausea inducing way...not like, ya know, Johnny Depp in Chocolat.

I'm so glad Sammie is safe.

Bartleby has stopped...um...bleeding, thank dog. In a weird way, I think he feels worse though...now that he's taking the medication. Kind of lethargic. Still. It will be over in a week and I can at least relax off of the 'I think he's dying' fit I was having in the middle of last night.

Poopyhead friend didn't even call to bring the boat back. Sheesh.

On the other hand, I ended walking down to the fireworks with some really nice neighbors and I do believe I actually had a better time than if nothing aggravating happened today. Plus, I was home and dry in less than 10 minutes, no traffic, no bugs and no schlepping a bunch o stuff off the river. Even walking up the Hill was fun in the crowd.

Gloria Estefan sang during the fireworks. My equally short neighbor and I found the perfect electrical box to stand on to get a pretty great view of the 'splodeys.

So, all in all, a nice end...after a crappy (no offense Bartleby honey, you know I love your leaky backside) beginning.

Plus I watched a Scrubs dvd. Damn. That's some funny/sweet/who knew John C. McGinley could be all hot and stuff...stuff.

eta: because a b may look like an f to us dyslexics, but Gloria deserves her due. Um. Did I mention I got no sleep last night? Obvious. I know. Off to bed.
