This is a conversation I had with Emmett this evening. Note that today, the Albany Eagles lost by one to the Pleasanton team. Afterwards, Emmett told me that he and Jack were the only ones who had fun even though they lost:

Emmett: Do you know what the key to playing good baseball is?
EM: No - what is it?
Emmett: The key to playing good baseball is having fun.
EM: Did you learn that from Tim?
Emmett: No, I learned it from me. I learned it all by myself.
EM: Oh.
Emmett: Because if you're angry, and you're trying to make the out, you're making overthrows. And when you're having fun, you're actually being more concentrated. You don’t have to be angry - if you're not having fun, you're just not concentrated.

Happy news from Chez Bee: DH has pee clean enough that he has been found suitable for employment, and he'll start Tuesday. O happy day - we're back up to full employment, and not a moment too soon, either. Isn't it nice we still have a bit of our savings left?

Also, today is his birthday, so merriment will be made. There will be poundcake with homemade slightly-alcoholic apricot syrup. Possibly even some whipped cream and strong black coffee to go with it.

My most radical haircut yet... [link] (look in the album called "Erika's photos. Volume 2") This cut will start my dad wondering how much I like girls again.(Well, I guess I am a Kinsey 1 so he has a little point, but Melissa Leo's been on The L Word so I don't think it's a rule!) I used Kiwi product... fifteen dollars for a tiny bowl thing. If I become a product whore, it's Hec's fault.

Checking in briefly to thank everyone for the birthday wishes. I am having a fabulous day so far. Teacup Guy took the whole day off from work and he is spoiling me rotten. This may just be my best birthday ever.
