Oh wow, Lilty....
That reminds me of the time my roommates and I found a pair of baby squirrels lying by their dead mother. We took them in and kept them as pets for the next 8 or 9 months.
Spike ,'Sleeper'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Oh, that's so sad!
Did they make good pets?
Did they make good pets?
Sort of. They were wonderful and fascinating, and loved to play "People-Trees," which involved putting the dogs outside, letting the squirrels out, and standing around being trees for the squirrels to leap around on.
The down sides of keeping them as pets were that, one - even building them a very large cage with branches inside to play on, it was too small an area. Squirrels can apparently really roam, even as pretty young creatures, and they would run back and forth over the braches incessantly. I'm pretty sure they rapidly grew bored with their cages.
The second downside was that they are very delicate creatures, and have an uncanny tendancy to dart underfoot at incredibly inopportune moments. Both squirrels died by getting their necks stepped on when they shot out under somebody's foot as they were stepping down in mid-walk.
We told ourselves that they both lived lives of incredble joy and comfort that most squirrels would never achieve. I only hope the one I stepped on can forgive me.
Oh, Bob the Robin sounds adorable. Possibly helpful: [link]
That's sad about the stroke and funeral, Raquel. It seems like it happens that way fairly often - grief triggers something like a stroke. Sad.

Oh NOES!
I'm sure they were very happy, and he is at peace.
ETA: Whoa. Apparently during the badass storms yesterday, a funnel cloud was spotted near my house. Not usual for Maine, so much.
Yikes, Lilty.
Sad/Weird...an elderly friend of ours was just admitted to the hospital with a stroke. He'd just gotten home from attending his twin brother's funeral.
Oh, Raquel. That's so sad. I hope the stroke turns out to be mild. A lot of the deaths in his family hit my father hard, but I think his twin's death broke something in him, very central to who he was. Strength and health to your friend.
I know, Cindy!
I almost wish I'd seen it. I was sitting outside storm watching, but it was spotted near the hospital and I was looking the other way.
It was a craxy storm, though. An hour or so afterward I drove out to the music store and there was more than one road that was washed out by a flash flood.
If we haven't heard fro Fay yet does this mean it was a really good date?
...er, no, it means that she's not been on it yet. Um. And is not stressing out in the manner of someone who's been on very very very few dates to date. No. So is instead liable to do PLATONIC very hard indeed.
Um.
runs away to get dressed.
Fay! Did you see the link I posted for you???
Fay, you are beautiful, charm personified, and very funny. Anyone would be fortunate for a date with you, be it platonic or romantic. Get yourself ready, and for the love of Mike, go have fun, and stop worrying. You go. You talk. You eat. You drink. You've known how to do all of these things since you were a year old.
If there are sparks, there will be sparks. If not, you still went out for a nice evening. I hereby declare all pressure you're trying to put on yourself as null and void, and would bet folding money that I could find 5 Buffistas in 30 seconds, who would gladly go on a date with you.
