Cleaning house can be both liberating and addictive. I'm working on my mountain of laundry, and came across a shirt for the Goodwill pile. So I say to myself, great, now go to the closet and get five more things RIGHT NOW. Really, once you put it in that bag you'll never even remember you had it.
The key is really doing this BEFORE I get home, otherwise I hear the piteous cries of my mother "Oh, you're giving
that
away? I got it for you, I didn't know you didn't like it!" It breaks my heart and I keep it forever.
ION, it looks like I may be in San Francisco for a few days in early August.
For hotels, try travelocity/expedia etc. They frequently have very nice deals.
Also, let us know if you have free time to play. It sounds like you might not, but if you do, I bet something could be arranged.
