Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I've marked your post, and I am definitely going to check out those links.

They're very useful. Invaluable, even.

Mostly lurking...

Groceries are ordered. Yay!

Kiss My Tiara : How to Rule the World as a SmartMouth Goddess

Thanks for the link--I just ordered this. It sounds like just the sort of book I need to be reading right now. I just finished Brust's Sethra Lavode and I'm most of the way through Patchett's The Magician's Assistant. Both of them are good books but (spoilers) both of them involve characters that I like who are dead by the end, or in the case of TMA, the beginning, of the book. And when I'm dealing with familial health drama, that's not really what I want to be reading.

Now tagless for your comfort.

At some point, you're going to want to take him for haircuts, so he'll get used to it.

I'm trying to decide when that's going to be. The only place it's getting out of control is the bangs. He's the youngest boy in the world with a bad comb-over. I've tried cutting them myself but he won't sit still (although I may pop in an Elmo DVD and see what happens). There's a good children's haircut place nearby called Snip, Buzz, Bangs that has little airplane and car barber chairs and they play videos non-stop. I don't know what it costs but I think if it leads to no tears haircuts, it may be worth any price. Christopher is pushing me for a guy's haircut--and has offered to use the same clippers I use on him to do O's hair. Not. Going. To. Happen.

I've decided Owen's pokey tummy is too edible for words. I got this children's book (I think it's English) called "Tickly Under There" and he laughs hysterically when I finish the line "one very tickly tum" and tickle him.

Anne, get-a-clue-ma for your temp agency. I hope you find something permanent that you like soon.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

In my experience with cutting toddler's hair, they hate having the hair bits fall into their face. So if you do the deed with O in your lap, I recommend using a comb to wet the hair, comb it up and back off his face before you cut so it doesn't fall in his face.

Thrive to spite them

I wish I could order groceries --that would be cool.

-t I'll definitly have pictures when everything is completed. I'll also be taking pictures of the emtpy pre painted house.

I really really need to get my hair cut it's been about 2 months but I've got so much going on right now I think I can hold off until next week.

So far today I've made arrangements for my phone to be transfered and an appointment to get the cable hooked up. Sprint charged me $50 to transfer my number and Comcast charged me a $2 "convience fee" for paying over the phone.

Quick poll: DSL or cable?

cable.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Cable.

It's been a year since I last cut my hair. Not because I'm growing it out or anything, I just haven't gotten off my ass and made an appointment. Or figured out what I want to do with it.

I've gotten charged for paying stiff over the phone before, which bugs, but that $50 from Sprint is pretty appalling.

move out and draw fire

Cable.

Captain Babypants had his two-month checkup and *shots* today. He did really well - the only aptitude check he didn't pass was "Does he respond to his name?" I guess we need to start calling him by his name.

But since the appointment he hasn't really been hungry. Should I worry?

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I recommend using a comb to wet the hair, comb it up and back off his face before you cut so it doesn't fall in his face.

Or, if you're cutting bangs, you can just do what my mother did: put a piece of Scotch tape straight across, then cut along the top edge. The bangs are straight and the hair sticks to the tape.
