Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Goddamn my slovenly ways!
In cleaning out my trunk, I just came across a cardboard box of just about everything I've wanted in the past year that my mother must have bought for me and packed. A year ago. Brand new knives, a set of silverware, salt, vanilla extract, oregano, the dishtowels that work good, an oven mitt, a good pair of kitchen scissors, and
heart breaks
a ceramic ice cream bowl and spoon set. All found just in time to move home.
I suck! (But at least now I'm enjoying my Ben and Jerry's Magic Brownies ice cream with a ceramic spoon.)

Job hunt question: Since I've been looking for a job for nearly a year now, would it be a good idea for me to ping my references just to say "Hi! Moved to a different state and looking for a job there!"
I would say so, Anne. Most places I've seen only keep your files on hand for six months, and it's possible that in your initial search, they might have only considered you for positions in your state, and they have no way of knowing that you're now looking for positions in another.
Anne, I think it is a good idea.
Has anyone heard from Nora or Tom? What time was their closing?
Happy birthdays and happy house closings and congratulations and good luck on job hunting! Plus everyone have a good day, because I think everyone deserves a good day today.
Because it bears repeating and is exactly what I wanted to say, but was too far behind.
Though Jilli deserves spats about 50,000 times more than the rest of us put together. Pete should get right on that.
Also, perzactly what JZ said.
Is there anything in Southport, CT?
Do you mean besides the Lyme disease carrying ticks? Seriously, though, congrats and good luck. Since we're losing Kristin to LA, it would be nice to get another NE Buffista in exchange.
Like the tiara exchange, except with Buffistas.
They were supposed to close by noon, I think.
I think notifying your references is a good idea, Anne. You don't want them to get a call and say "Missouri? But the Anne W. I know is in DC"
I am impressed with your ability to not need the full capacity of your trunk for so long, Lilty. Though it would have been funnier if you had found all that stuff when you were making room to schlepp home the same stuff that you had just bought. Try to work that in next time.
Peace and health-ma for you and your office, GC.

I know, Kristin's so lame! It would have been wicked cool if she
weren't
moving and I ended up there. But there are like three thousand of you in that area, which is more than are here.
I am impressed with your ability to not need the full capacity of your trunk for so long, Lilty
Well, I wouldn't say I never
needed
it. I'd usually just open the trunk, look at it, sigh, close the trunk, and jam a bunch of shit in the backseat.

Ha! Almost what I was doing. Once I started the manic cleaning, I moved on to the trunk, figuring, I'll have to move stuff soon, so I might as well have that room back.
Lilty, are you SURE you don't want to move to Cambridge?
Seriously. Because it would be most excellent.
