juniper berries

Alice Waters' recipe for turkey brine uses these. That's why I have them, at least.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Must remember to hide that story of scorpions in the prosthesis from ex-GF by burying it deep in the internet, probably underneath a Unix programmers board or some such.

I started my day with a haircut. Mom was like "I can't stand it in your face like that." I pretended my doubts and stuff were in the cut hair...I'll let y'all know if it helps.

You hear that Nora? Less hair, less worries. You know, sweetie, you screwed up. But it's not like you get stuck in a parking lot every day. Big difference between fucking up and being a fuckup. I think for the later you have to be completely flaky and unreliable - which you are not.

So at last check, Cindy, erika, juliana, Jessica and Liese all have extra short haircuts for summer and none of you are sharing pictures with me. You know there is a tithe to be paid for rustling up all those reference shots for you!

Teppy and Cash, however, have been generous and forthcoming with their coiffitude.

Emmett has started his first day of summer camp at Acrosports. He'll be tumbling and juggling all day, then whisked back to Concord to play in the semifinals of the baseball tournament he's in. Long day.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Dude, we've been having computer problems from hell lately. Both of ours are pre-Y2K, and they're showing it. I'm hoping to get everything uploaded sometime this week. Current hair is not far different from this, though, just less pointy in front.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I can't remember when I last got my hair cut, but I know it was less than a month ago. And yet -- it's been driving me nuts for the past few days. It grows quickly anyway, but it always grows faster in the summer.

Wait....let me check my bank account online and see when I last spent money at the salon....

Good god. May 31. That's 3 weeks ago, to the day. So, 3 weeks ago, my hair looked like this: [link] , and now it's halfway covering my ears.

Art Crawl!!!

Sounds like Emmett is in a fun camp this summer. Has he been to it before?

Mmmm. Any excuse for Juliana pictures is good for me.

Think of it as an opportunity for somebody to wash your hair for you on a semi-regular basis.

For brief one-day stints. It's actually on my block. So this is the first time in five years that I didn't have to do an hour and a half commute to drop him somewhere before I go to work.

But Emmett lobbied to go back to Acrosports - he does enjoy bouncing on the trampoline and they have rigs for doing trapeze work. It's just that the class was full of teeny little girls and only a handful of boys his age. So I think he'll enjoy the activity, but am a little worried that he'll have kids to play with in aftercare (3-5:30).

Yeah, yeah. I just hate paying to get my hair cut more than once a month.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I get my hair cut twice a year. I am very bad at cut maintenance. But my hair grows kinda slow.

I did dye it this weekend, a nice bright red. It was very dull and very root-y. I am mucho relieved.

BOOOORRRREEEEEDDDDDD. And still sleepy, but not as much as I was.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Less hair, less worries.

Lands no. The least worrisome hairstyle on earth is a ponytail. Takes three seconds, gets the hair off your neck and out of your face if you're hot and/or busy. Keeps the hair cleaner in a dirty situation. If my hair is too short to be caught up in a clip or a band I lose my mind.
