juliana, I absolutely adore the second one you linked to. I like the asymetry. The really regularly patterned tiaras leave me cold.
Although, that first one you linked to is extremely regal. It requires a scepter to go with, don't you think? I don't have good enough posture for it, everyone would know I'm just a pretender.
The second one juliana linked to is kind of what I'd make, or at least that style, with the waving about of things on wire.
Deena, SCSI is how the cables connect to it -- SCSI is an older way, and USB and Firewire are current ways. They look like this:
SCSI: [link] [link]
USB: [link]
Firewire: [link]
I don't know enough to know what that means.
It's the type of cable that connects it to the computer. SCSI is old-fashioned but still in use. These days most of these things tend to be USB. However, I think a lot of PCs still have SCSI ports. ANyone with more PC knowledge wanna help me out here?
What computer are you thinking of connecting it to? How old is it?
Eta: Wheeee! Crosspost. Steph's is obviously much shinier what with the links 'n' all.
scsi
n. [Small Computer System Interface] A bus-independent standard for system-level interfacing between a computer and intelligent devices. Typically annotated in literature with 'sexy' (/sek'see/), 'sissy' (/sis'ee/), and 'scuzzy' (/skuh'zee/) as pronunciation guides -- the last being the overwhelmingly predominant form, much to the dismay of the designers and their marketing people. One can usually assume that a person who pronounces it /S-C-S-I/ is clueless.
Superceded by USB and Firewire.
ah HAH! I thought it might be a connectivity issue. Not a problem. I have that on the back of this computer, along with a million other types of connectors. Thanks Steph. (How's your head today?)
Pete, I would e-mail you, but there's no e-mail address in your profile. I would love to have it, if you don't have other plans for it, will gladly pay postage, and will even send you some sparkly bath bombs, soap and/or baked goods.
Hee! lots of lovely x-posting. This is a new computer with a lot of memory. It makes me happy. It loves media of all types and I've been wanting to do some more things with it.
juliana, this one reminds me of you.
Yeah...she sure did.
If you don't want to make the guy scream, maybe you want Howard-ma.

Okee-doke. I'll drop you a line when I'm ready to give it up (should be about a week) as I'm waiting for the new computer to attach the new tablet to.
As for goodies, I will ask Jilli and see what she wants. As ever the Perkygoth makes like a bandit on the deal!
Ooh, one last thing, there are a few different SCSI types, some smaller than others. You might want to check the back of your computer to see what you have available. When I finally dig the Mac out from its cubby-hole, I will do the same and we shall compare notes.
Thanks Steph. (How's your head today?)
About 95% better (there's still some residual pain across my cheekbone, but it's on its way out).
