Oh, and also:
What makes PRIG even worse is that there are people who want to work to make a difference (Exactly the kind of job I'm trying to get) and so they're not only preying on the need for a job, but people's consciences too.
This reminds me, Heather, to ask if you've looked at idealist.org. I found my new! job there, and it seems to be a great resource, though I'm not sure how much they'll have for Louisiana.
Back in the dim, distant past, when PIRG was just getting started ... yup, they were pretty much the same, although without the promises of making money. PRIG is a good description of the mindset back then ... and it sounds like they haven't changed that much.
Hm. Maybe I won't even waste my Thursday on them.
I suppose because I was envious because we have nothing like Reel Moms here and the idea of successfully taking Ellie out on my own sounds so appealing and yet really far away.
Lowes needs to bring it to you! They have it in a lot of cities, with plans for more, but I somehow doubt you feel like driving to DC just for a movie, and I think that's what's closest to you.
In theory, I'll make it next week when they are bound to be showing Batman Begins. Barring hell and high water, of course.
Of course, in two months, I've managed to take the baby out for something other than appointments or picking up dad exactly, umm... never.
This is cute yet twisted, which means I love it! [link]
I'm off. Wish me monsters.
Monsters, Cindy.
GC, that is very twisted and creepy. I watched all of it.
Yeah, it's freaky-deaky. The sound effects are spooky.
Cindy, I hope your day manages to get better.
At least you didn't find them *in* the toilet.
Um, I *flushed* my keys once in college. Accidentally. Makes it A LOT harder to get them back.
Of course, in two months, I've managed to take the baby out for something other than appointments or picking up dad exactly, umm... never.
Plei, I really don't think I went out that much the first two months or so, except for appointments. Sometimes, now, I NEVER want to leave the house.
Tried to take the boy to the pool today. Fucking exhausting. I was unprepared (My swimsuits really don't fit so I didn't wear one and I forgot to bring toys) and the pool wasn't quite right (TOO expensive, a tad too deep). All Owen wanted to do was walk around the pool stealing peoples' sandals. Which is just gross. I'm buying a plastic pool for the backyard.
On the plus side of my day, DH came home from work early. OK, it was because he had a headache but he took some Tylenol and it went away so he let me take a long nap when we got back from the pool.
I'm off. Wish me monsters.
I wish you cameras! Okay and monsters.
