Don't worry, I'm not gonna start any sword fights. I'm over that phase.

Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks, everyone. It's all little stuff. Pecked to death by ducks stuff.

Little stuff can get overwhelming if there is enough of it, especially in this heat.

What is even happening?

It's cold now, sj. We had to close our windows. The rain this morning, and then later this afternoon really cooled things off. That's a good thing. I couldn't stay at Ben's baseball game last night, because I was too hot.

Up with the sun

The organization is PIRGIM, Public Interest Research Group in Michigan. The cause of the day is water use laws

Avoid this job like the plague, unless Michigan PIRG is radically different from Maryland PIRG, which would surprise me. Basically, you go door to door soliciting for donations (and possibly selling stuff, I don't really remember). You get a cut of whatever you collect. I knew three guys who signed up together in college, and they all quit within two weeks. None of them made more than pocket change. It sounded like the work environment was weirdly borderline cultish.

I mean, try it if you want, but there are better ways to make a buck. Register with a temp agency or take a retail job or something first -- at least then you're inside.

What Lyra said about Maryland PIRG holds true for MASS PIRG, as well. I always feel sorry for those kids.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I've heard the same stuff about PIRG that LJ has.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Thanks for the heads-up, LJ...and Cindy...and Hil....oops. I'll still go to the observation day, cause it's not like I have anything else to do on Thursday (he wanted me to come tomorrow, but I want to wrangle a Batman Begins viewing, or at least watch The Inside live). Dammit! Why do I end up with all the cults? First TEAM, now this. I'm so young and impressionable.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

In a....show? Like Cabaret?

Ha! Nope, in the shower. That one was after a long walk in July, when I just walked straight into my aprtment and stepped in the shower fully clothed and turned the water on.

Ugh -- Okay, I am done typing meeting notes for the day, which gives me 45 minutes to use the PC to imagine my classroom and curriculum.

Fun.

Also, but damn. It made me feel all worthwhile and qualified for a few minutes.

I hope all these pharmaceutical companies and CROs I'm applying to aren't cults.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

By the way, since we're both here...Emily thinks I made up the word caddywompus. Please tell her I'm not the only person who uses this word. Please. I'm not totally weird, am I?

Cattywampus. I say it all the time.

Cindy, on the plus side, you've got a package heading your way which will probably arrive tomorrow with Buffy you've never seen.

Wait, how is there Buffy Cindy's never seen?
