Is your care through Mass. General (or Partners)? They used to have an office called "Patient Financial Services" in the Wang Ambulatory Care Center building.
That's actually where I've been going. I have a fairly weird situation that they haven't dealt with much, though, so it's been fun...probably still better than going to DTA, though.
Happy Anniversary, connie!
I haven't read beep me, but it looks like congrats are in order for Lyra! Yay!
The Tick is on Toon Disney.
As someone posted before, it will also be on ABC Family starting this Sunday at 11 am. Looks like it will be a weekly screening of the show and not a daily.
Emily, if you're still around, could you jump on AIM for a second?
I'm very excited about the Tick on TV again, even though I've already got my set of bootleg DVDs.
P-C, your parents believe you could become a Ph.D. It's not that they don't believe in you - they obviously have a lot of faith in your abilities. They just don't understand your choice. Which is pretty consistent with their attitude about marriage too.
They have Strongly Held Opinions which reflect their culture and upbringing. Your expectations about your life were shaped very differently. It's not really personal at all. It's the alltime classic American culture clash between generations.
Happy Anniversary, Connie!

Complicated by a genuine clash of the cultures.
and probably some lingering caste bias
Congrats, LJ! I hope these people appreciate you properly and give you what you need to be successful at your job.
Connie, happy anniversary.

The annoying thing is no matter what happens now, I can't go back and get a Ph.D. I can't give them that victory, fulfill that "I told you so." Stupid sexy life-changing decisions.

You could get a Ph.D. in Sexology. That'd flip 'em out.
Just as you shouldn't let your parents force you to do a PhD, you shouldn't let them prevent you from doing one, if you want it. Otherwise they're still controlling you.
